Poplar Ridge enjoyed attending the 2026 VNLA Field Day at Rassawek Vineyards!

It was great catching up with so many friends in the green industry, making new connections, and spending time with customers. We also appreciated the update from AmericanHort on the latest legislative proposals affecting our industry.

A big thank you to VNLA for putting together such a great event at the beautiful Rassawek Vineyards and for the delicious catered lunch! We’re grateful for opportunities like these to learn, connect, and continue growing. ❤️🌱

We were honored to host the Virginia Farm Bureau Young Farmers this weekend at Poplar Ridge Nursery!

It was a pleasure showing everyone around the nursery, sharing our story, and talking about how we grow and ship ornamental grass liners. We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with other young people in agriculture and share ideas about our industry.

Thank you to the Virginia Farm Bureau Young Farmers program for choosing Poplar Ridge as a tour stop. We truly appreciate the opportunity and hope everyone enjoyed their visit!

Some great Carex varieties are ready for installation at the Richmond Airport! ✈️

We were proud to supply James River Nurseries | Landscape Construction Firm with Carex cherokeensis, Carex plantaginea, and Carex ‘Blue Zinger’ for this project. These selections will provide beautiful color, texture, and dependable performance for the coming years.

We’re proud to have supplied the native grasses used in this shoreline restoration project at Westland Beach in Windmill Point, VA! 🌾

This project features American Beach Grass (Ammophila breviligulata) and Smooth Cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora), two important native species that help stablize shorelines, reducd erosion, and protect coastal habitats. American beach grass develops and extensive root system that holds sandy soils in place, while Spartina alterniflora thrives in tidal environments, trapping sediment and helping buffer wave action.

We’re especially excited to see Westland Beach reopened and available for the public to enjoy once again. Projects like this help preserve and protect Virginia’s beautiful coastal resources for future generations.

A special thank you to Docks of the Bay Services for choosing Poplar Ridge Nursery as their plant supplier and for their work helping restore and protect our local shorelines. We’re grateful to have been a part of this project!
