ADHD Moments with Cass 😂

Sometimes people ask me, “When are you going to do that?” so they can help…

And honestly? I have no fu***ng clue. 😂

Because sometimes I don’t plan to do things.

Things just… happen.

This morning I was out feeding the chickens when I noticed a little tree getting in the way.

And after all the recent branch-trimming chaos around the seedling greenhouse… this tree was NOT about to grow up thinking it ran the place. 😂

So I thought, “Oh no you don’t.”

Which turned into…

“Oh, lemme get these branches right here too.”

Which turned into…

“Wait… those branches behind the mama greenhouse are getting WAY too close for comfort.”

And before I knew it, I was apparently conducting an entire tree-management operation. 🌳✂️😂

Welp… now it’s time to go finish packing orders so everyone can get their beautiful new babies!

…OH WAIT.

Where the hell did I put that damn Red Bull?! 👀

FOUND IT. 😂😂😂

And THIS is exactly why I never really know what each day has in store for me.

I don’t always have a plan.

Sometimes I just follow the ADHD side quest until suddenly it’s 3 hours later and I’ve accomplished 17 things I never intended to do. 🤣

And to think it took until my 40s to finally get diagnosed with ADHD…

Tell me I’m not alone. 👀

Are you a “stick to the plan” person?

Or are you also out here accidentally completing side quests all damn day? 😂

Good morning from the greenhouse! 🌿☀️

Bright and early this morning I was out feeding the chickens and, of course, had to make a quick stop in the greenhouse to see what berries were ready to harvest. 😂

Only ONE ready today… but don’t worry, there are plenty more coming! 👀🌱

Since I was already in there, I figured I’d take you along and show you some of the beauties that caught my eye this morning—including some gorgeous new plants and emergents that I can’t stop staring at. 😍

Sometimes I swear I could spend all day in here just looking at new leaves, checking berries, and admiring the plants. 💚

So here’s a little morning greenhouse tour for you!

I hope you enjoy these beauties as much as I do, and I hope they add a little happiness to your day. 🌿✨

Which plant caught YOUR eye?! 👀👇

Would you have made this cross… or did I just waste a perfectly good inflo?! 👀🌿

My massive, beautiful Carla x Besseae aff is receptive today, and she’s proven herself to be a VERY fertile girl. 😏

She came from SKG last September with three already-pollinated inflos! Since then, she’s open-pollinated one on her own, and she’s currently pregnant with(Dark & Handsome x Michelle) pollen from my dear friend Kaylee Clark .

So because she’s such a fertile mamma, I decided to take a little risk. 👀

I wanted to try her with something that isn’t necessarily known for being an amazing pollen parent—but that could make some absolutely BEAUTIFUL babies.

Enter… this gorgeous Hu fka King of Spades. 🔥

If it takes, this could be a REALLY beautiful cross. 🤞

But now I want your opinion…

Did I waste an inflo, or was this absolutely worth the gamble?!

Would YOU have made this cross? Tell me what you think! 👇🌿

I HAVE A PROBLEM… 😂🌿

Well… I’m not sure this is actually a problem. 👀

I just got all my fresh imports moved into the greenhouse and somehow…

I STILL HAVE SPACE ON THE SHELVES. 😳

Which can only mean one thing…

I guess I have room to bring home MORE PLANTS from International Aroid Plant Society IAS next month! 🤷‍♀️😂

Apparently I did better than I thought the other day when I pulled some holdbacks to make room for the imports!

And honestly, I love when the plant math works out like this. 😂

Because now I feel MUCH better about my upcoming plant shopping trip to Florida. 😏🌿

It’s not overspending if you have shelf space, right?! 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one who uses available space as an excuse to buy more plants. 👀👇

Just wanna say happy birthday to one of my plant besties! This girl may be young enough to be my daughter but 🤷‍♀️😂!

We have bonded over a love for plants and childhood trauma! 😂🫣!

Thanks for being such a great friend! Wild how one decision to show up at a strangers house to buy plants ended up turning into an amazing friendship! Glad you came over that day even if your man was worried it might not have been safe! 😝

Love you Kaylee Clark and I hope you have an amazing birthday!!!

A peek inside my seed shelf… 🌱💚

Every single one of these is a hybrid that I created from plants in my own collection. Watching these tiny seedlings grow into something completely unique never gets old.

Getting to this point didn’t happen overnight. It took years of collecting, growing out mother plants, making crosses, waiting for berries, harvesting seeds, and then… waiting some more. 😅

Now, seeing shelf after shelf filling up with new babies is incredibly rewarding.

I can’t wait to watch these grow and, one day, share them with fellow Anthurium collectors. Who knows… one of these little seedlings could end up being the next showstopper. 🤩🌿

If you could grow out just ONE of these babies, would you rather it have:
💚 Dark velvet leaves
💚 Crazy variegation
💚 Giant leaves
💚 Wild emergent colors

Tell me which trait you’re chasing! 👇

✂️🌿 Terrified to chop your Anthurium? I get it… I was too.

For the longest time, I was convinced I’d do more harm than good. So I’d do everything I could to save every single root… even the questionable ones.

Turns out, I was doing more harm than good.

Those unhealthy roots would eventually rot, and before I recognized what was happening, the rot had spread through the entire chonk. 💔

Learning how to properly chop and propagate completely changed the way I care for my Anthuriums. Not only did it take away the fear, but it’s also saved countless plants in my collection.

So today, in Anthurium 101, I’m walking you through exactly how I chop and propagate my Anthuriums—from deciding where to make the cut to cleaning up the roots and giving your plant the best chance for a successful recovery.

If you’ve been putting off chopping your Anthurium because you’re afraid of making the wrong cut… this reel is for you. 💚

💾 Save this reel before your next chop so it’s here when you need it!
