Succulent Soil Mix

25% Perlite/cinder rock/pumice
Each has different merits but you will be able to find one easier than the others and any one of them will work.

25% Gravel (pea or crushed)

25% Ground coco coir. This serves as the humus component of your soil. It absorbs some water.

25% Builder's sand (type 2)-this sand has larger grains than play sand.

The name of the game with succulent soil is drainage. Larger chunks open the soil to allow air in and water drain out. Smaller particles hold more water between them. You should adjust the recipe to fit your environment, type of plant and type of pot (shallow vs. deep and plastic vs. porous clay).

If you can't stop by Westbrook this weekend, we will be at the Charity Chicks Christmas Bazaar on Friday 12/13 in Clifton, AZ with similar offerings.
