Wrapped up the last few finishing touches today to get this lot ready to hit the rental market. As luck would have it, right as I was wrapping up, the rain rolled in… and I wasn’t mad about it one bit. I’ll take 73° with a little rain over 93° with the sun beating down on me any day.
Today’s checklist included staining the picnic table, mounting a campground-style Pilot Rock pedestal grill, laying down driveway fabric, and spreading 3.5 tons of gravel to create an additional parking area. Since the campground doesn’t allow parking on the grass, this gives guests more usable parking while keeping the concrete pad open and functional.
Looking back at where this lot started, it’s been a fun transformation. Between the gazebo, basketweave privacy fence, fire pit, landscaping with arborvitaes and egg rock, expanded parking, and all the finishing touches, I’d have to say this has become one of the nicest setups in the campground.
The lot is located in Murphy, North Carolina, directly across from Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino, so guests can spend the evening relaxing around the fire pit, throw something on the grill, or head across the road and try their luck at the casino. Hopefully it’ll stay rented out for years to come.
