Well Summer is coming to a close. We are looking forward to that cool crisp air and Fall color! But here is a few plants giving us lots of color and bloom this time of the year! Now is a great time to get new plants in the ground. We will be glad to help give us a call or text. Happy Planting

Well summer is upon us! Remember after most plants have bloomed it's a good time to trim and shape up your plants! We recommend not to trim after the 1st of August. This way plants can flush and grow one last time before winter. Another major thing is fertilizer!!! If you haven't put out a slow release yet we recommend not putting it on this late in the year. If your plants are from us they already have fertilizer they are in great shape for the rest of the year! Now we do recommend using a liquid fertilizer every two weeks up til the 1st of August! Fall will be here before we know it. As always plants in containers can be planted mostly all year long! We look forward to helping you with all your plant needs.

Add some color for summer with a Proven Winners butterfly bush. Miss Molly with a deep Redish color. Pugster Amethyst a lavender color. And Pugster Blue with a mature height of 2' All make great plants for humming birds and all different kinds of butterflys.

Variegated Iris is a great perennial not only do u get color with the blooms but with the foliage too! It attracts many pollinators as well!

Wow , it's almost been a year since our last post. How time flys. Our customer base has greatly expanded and 2019 was our best year yet. Thank you all so very much for choosing McCalls Nursery ! We strive to provide you with the best North Carolina grown plants on the market. We are a family business established in1983 by Roger Mccall. Brandon Greene now co owner and manager of McCalls Nursery has done a great job maintaining and expanding the business. We plan to add more native shrubs and perennials to our list of plants we are growing. We think our quality of plant material along with reasonable prices will keep our customer base growing. It has been a very busy spring. This Covid-19 must have everyone thinking about getting out and fixing up their Landscaping. Well summer is here. We had a great spring. Our plants really went fast this year. We are increasing our plant inventory in order to keep up with demand.
