Opted for an early harvest on a few things and was so happy to find nearly 50 potatoes from my very small crop, grown from 5 plants in a 20" Diameter plastic pot. I had 20 or less quarter sized potatoes last year, this year nearly 75" of these Nordic reds are about 3" big! Progress is progress, and I also harvested some leaf lettuce and fresh onions and green onions! They were sure tasty! 🧅 🥬 🥔

So I threw together another bouquet from the garden today and just used an old plastic cup as the vase. I really liked using some of my fire and ice dahlias and fubuki maroon dahlias, crema de cassis dahlias, burgundy wine Asiatic lilies, double tiger lilies, orange daylilies, some foliage clippings from my orange rocket barberry bushes for zest and bam you get a floral arrangement on the fly lol 😂

Okay guys so my Elephant bush is about a year old and I just wanted to brag about how big it's gotten since I put it in this hanging basket. Like it's gotten so healthy and long! My hand is in one of the photos for size reference! 🐘 🌴

There are so many varieties of Taro growing here at Grimm Gardens! I planted more tubers/bulbs after Easter than I can remember the amount of, unfortunately not all of them have sprouted ears yet! So far my Heart of the Jungle, Mojito, Fruit punch, Black Coral, Amazonica, Black Beauty, Esculanta by the ton, two Thailand giant out of which only one has sprouted so far, and Hilo beauty Elephant ears have sprouted and are beginning to grow strong! I started with two plants last year and went wild with them this year! I recently learned that these are grown as crops where they originate from and while most cultivars are for ornamental purposes, the tubers are harvested much like a potato and that's cool.

This is me holding the last batch of sweet corn ready to be transplanted this year. Once these are planted I will have transplanted nearly 300 peaches and cream corn stalks grown from seed and planted by hand! I'm really proud of how great they've grown! 🌽
