Finally got some honey today. There may be a small batch for sale. Going to try some comb in jar pints.

There was so much burr comb that it extended into the next box below it. Just look how much honey is in all that! Super heavy to pick up. I also got to eat a bunch of burr comb loaded with honey. Nothing better than getting honey straight from the hive! 🐝🐝🐝🍯

Had some jars of honey that crystallized. Got them in a hot water bath to melt them down. Also had a little helper with me.

Keep these plants in mind when planning your garden this year. Plus having fresh herbs at home is a plus! The perennials will come back each year where the annuals will need to be replanted each year.

Well I'm sad to say that I lost all of my bees. Including the one wild hive I caught over the late summer. All 3 hives were still inside. My best assumption is they died over the Christmas holiday when it was ridiculously cold. It really does suck and makes me a bit disheartened to continue beekeeping. But, this is just another bit of experience to keep in mind for the next winter.

Got to check on the bees today. It's not looking too good. I think all 3 hives have died. It's been a pretty chilly winter. This would be the first time I've lost all of my bees. But I won't know for certain until I open them up.
