🐔 Chicken Update from the Farm! 🐔

We’ve got chicken backs and necks available from our first order while supplies last! They’re perfect for making rich homemade broth, soups, stock, or for keeping your farm dogs happy.

🌟 July Chicken Preorders Are NOW OPEN! 🌟

Our next batch of farm-raised chickens will be heading to processing in July, and now is the time to reserve yours. If you’d like to stock your freezer with locally raised chicken, send us a message to get on the list.

After battling the weather, mud, and a steep learning curve with our first round, we’re happy to report that Round 2 has been a completely different story. The birds are growing well, the weather has been much more cooperative, and everything is running smoother thanks to the lessons we learned along the way. Farming keeps you humble, but it’s rewarding to see those hard-earned improvements paying off!

📩 Message us to reserve your July chickens or claim backs and necks. As always, thank you for supporting local agriculture ! 🐓🌱❤️

We have reached the end of the road for our first batch of meat chickens. Tomorrow morning they head to the processor, bringing this chapter to a close.

When we started this journey, we thought raising chickens would be fairly straightforward. Mother Nature had other plans. Between the weather, predators, fencing repairs, and the daily work that comes with caring for 100 growing birds, this project was much more challenging than we anticipated.

But that’s part of farming. Every setback is a lesson, and every lesson makes the next round better.

We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who followed along, offered advice, placed orders, and supported our family through this adventure. While we’re sad to see this batch go, we’re excited to fill freezers with quality home-raised chicken and even more excited for our July batch. We have plenty of ideas to improve and can’t wait to put what we’ve learned into practice.

Here’s to learning, growing, and doing it all over again. 🐔

🐔 Farm Update: We’ve Officially Lost Track of the Weeks 😅🐔

At this point, we’re somewhere between “tiny peeps” and “wow, those are definitely chickens.”

The flock has fully settled into outdoor life and spends most of the day doing what meat chickens do best:
🍽️ eating
💧 drinking
☀️ lounging in the sun
🌱 growing at an alarming rate

What started as fluffy little chicks now comes running when they see us carrying feed buckets, and the amount of feed and water they go through daily is impressive

The growth over the last few weeks has been wild, and we’re getting closer and closer to processing time. Until then, the chickens are living their best pasture-raised lives.

We have SOLD OUT!!!!!! of our first round of meat, luckily we have started a second order and will have more available late July! Pre-orders are open for those!!

Week 6/7 update from the meat birds 🐔

Nobody really talks about this side of raising animals, but nature can be pretty cruel sometimes. Over the last couple weeks we’ve battled predators hard and have trapped 4 raccoons and 2 skunks trying to turn our chicken pen into an all-you-can-eat buffet. Unfortunately this has come with a pretty high death toll!

Chicken life isn’t always the picture-perfect sunsets and cute chick photos. Sometimes it’s protecting what you’ve worked hard to raise. You don’t choose the chicken life, the chicken life chooses you!

🐔 Meat Chicken Series – Week 5: Full-On Growth Mode 🐔

Week five and these birds are officially in their “eat, grow, repeat” era

They’ve settled into life outside and are thriving spreading out, soaking up sunshine, and putting on size FAST. What used to be a handful of chicks is now starting to look like a full flock of meat chickens.

At this stage:
🍽️ Feed consumption is at an all-time high (you can almost watch them grow)
💧 Waterers need constant attention especially with warmer temps
🌱 Pasture time = stronger, healthier birds
🛠️ Pens are getting moved and managed more often to keep things clean

They’re heavier, less “flighty,” and more focused on one thing… eating 😄 You’ll notice less fluff, more muscle, and a whole lot of growth happening every single day.

👉 Pre-orders are filling up quickly, and some cuts are getting low!!
