Contractor Job Posting
SFCC has a great established reputation for our honesty, reliability, customer service and work performed. Our customers are our business!
**We are in search to hire up and coming contractors to have on hand to assist us with our construction jobs.**
Please read this post and it’s entirety and serious inquiries only.
Minimal experience is required as we will teach you and direct you on what to do. Work performed includes but not limited to assistance with kitchen and bath remodeling, carpentry, demolition, painting, flooring, plumbing and exterior work. You will be in assistance mode most of the time retrieving tools and materials, setting up and breaking down work stations and always maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
A good work ethic is highly desired; being on time, paying attention, learning, providing excellent customer service and staying productively busy all the time. As you gain the knowledge and abilities to complete independent tasks, those will be assigned as well.
We would prefer you to have your own hand and power tools and/or the willingness to invest in your own tools as time goes on.
We would like you to have basic knowledge, skills and abilities with the following:
* Hand and power tools, nuts, bolts, fixtures, etc.
* Basic construction standards
* All kinds of building materials
* Safety standards including strict adherence to PPE usage
* Ability to maintain fit-for-duty: proper hydration and food intake to be strong and alert on the job
* Keeping work area cleaned and disinfected
* Willingness to learn
* Punctual and reliable
* Respectful mannerisms
* Ability to lift/push/pull: up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80ish lbs. occasionally.
* Valid Drivers license and owned transportation required
Pay varies by job. This is a pay by the job contractor position. This is not an hourly position. You will be required to complete a W9 and will be issued a 1099 income tax form at the end of the year. However, “average” pay is around $20 an hour. We work by the day and the job. Hours and work days depend on the job. We work when there is work as there will be down time. With that being said, when the work is there, we start early and may stay late. The more jobs we put in, the more money we all make for those down time days. All work, pay, hours and days will be discussed and agreed upon prior to each job.
**Our continued desire to hire you for jobs will depend on your work ethic as stated above. Future opportunities include being an independent subcontractor with us.**
If this sounds like something you are interested in and have the ability to do, please send resume or letter with your credentials to [email protected] or (586)549-7900.
Serious inquiries only please.
If your credentials are what we are looking for, we will contact you to set up a working interview. Thank you.
