Whitney Rietz Designs, IIDA Whitney Rietz Eller is an interior designer and owner of her own Mt. Pleasant based design business, Whitney Rietz Designs (WRD).

A graduate of O’More College of Design, she holds a B.S. of Interior Design. Upon completion of O’More, Whitney was recognized as the “Top Graduating Senior in the State of Tennessee for the year 2000” by the Tennessee chapter of IIDA. Her previous college experience includes a B.S. in Family and Child Development from Auburn University (1995) and a certificate of completion from the Institute of Classical Architecture in New York City (1999). Whitney has been awarded by IIDA “The Silver Award for Best Hospitality Design” for Saltus River Grill, 2004.

Ten years ago, I had the honor of designing Bob Carter’s final restaurant in Charleston—Barony Tavern—with Stumphouse Architecture, just before he retired due to health reasons.
Long before we worked together, Bob showed me what true hospitality meant. After hearing my husband and I had a bad dining experience across the street, he welcomed us to Peninsula Grill with wine and a complimentary appetizer—no questions, just kindness.
He was a legend in the hospitality world, and it was a privilege to design a space for someone with such heart.

WRD had the pleasure of collaborating with stumphouse architecture to bring this upscale-casual beer hall to life 🍻✨
Tudor Revival meets modern charm—with tiered chandeliers, ruffled-shirt portraits, and classic turned-leg chairs that set the mood just right.
As puts it:
“...tiered chandeliers that look like a blacksmith’s handiwork, miniature portraits of men in ruffled shirts and upholstered chairs with turned legs.”

🐻✨ Since 2014, Golden Bear Realty (a Jack Nicklaus Family Company) has brought its legendary name to the Lowcountry. WRD designed a welcoming space filled with Nicklaus memorabilia, a photo gallery for intimate gatherings, and bold blue-green walls to make the iconic Golden Bear shine
