Tons of small miters, no visible nail holes.
•
How? Tight bond 3, as well as some 2p10 on the miters. Once the 2p10 holds, flip the assembly and hit it with the 22 guage furniture stapler on the bottom.

Bombproof miters, no (unnecessary) holes in the prefinished trim.

Learned this from my old shop foreman. The same guy that would straight up shout at me “Just cut the f*cking thing!” When I was experiencing analysis paralysis in my early years…

Sometimes you’re on site and need to bore for hinges without a Blum mini press. A simple straight edge will help align the hinges perfectly.

Yes, you can freehand with the track saw. Just because you can, sometimes means you should.
•
Why do it do it? Because unlike the dopes installing countertops today, I don’t like inhaling everything I’m cutting. The dust collection is fantastic.

Ain’t nobody got time to be lifting cabinets in place to mark them, take them down, cut extended stiles, then lift them back into place.

This is a tried and true method for me, and hopefully it helps. For a wall to wall application, it’s the same process. But you can make a full template and then place it on the faceframe, mark and cut.

I haven’t been using this method for a very long time. It works well if you don’t have a lot of material on site to template for longer countertops.

You just need to get past the fear of messing up a very expensive top😂

Dusted off the Collins stair tread template as I had four fixed points and I didn’t want to spend all day fkn with these panels.
•
Could I have measured as these areas were dead plumb and square? Maybe. The floors were out over a 1/4” over 16” so that didn’t help.
•
Make sure to back bevel the panels. Makes for a buttery smooth fit.
