Did your home upgrades improve more than the way your space looks? A simple before-and-after energy report can help you evaluate cooling costs, comfort, and humidity over time.
Compare these three areas:
1) Cooling costs
Compare the same-season electric bills with a reasonable baseline, such as the same months before the work or the previous year. Look at patterns: not just one bill.
2) Room comfort
Note whether rooms that used to feel hot, cold, or humid now stay more comfortable. Pay attention to bedrooms, upstairs areas, and spaces farthest from the HVAC system.
3) HVAC runtime and performance
Track how often the system runs and whether it reaches your thermostat setting comfortably after improvements such as high-performance windows, insulated exterior doors, roofing updates, or added insulation.
Results vary by home, weather, occupancy, thermostat settings, equipment condition, and utility rates, so this is about identifying trends: not promising guaranteed savings.
