Is it really worth saving a few bucks to get faucets through a big box store when you are working with a plumber that can get you one?

There actually is a difference in the products sold through the on-line retailers/chains and the plumbing supply houses. The products are not the same, even though they are the same 'model'. You have to compare the SKU #, not the model # to get actual product comparisons. If you could actually compare the 2 products, you will find that the product sold through the plumbing supply house is much higher quality (metal finish vs painted plastic), with better internal materials (brass fittings vs plastic fittings) and warrantied longer (5 yr vs 1 yr).

I suggest that you buy it from the contractor (Dynamic plumbing ) through the plumbing supply house. You will most likely get a better warranty from both the contractor and supplier if it fails. I always tell my clients to invest in good quality plumbing products since the cost per use is fractions of $ over time and if you get a cheap one and it fails and you have to buy another one, then you are losing out. This is especially true for fixtures buried behind walls (temp valves, control valves, etc) that are more costly to replace.
