Wild columbine is a standout addition to any native garden. Even after its blooms fade for the season, the remaining foliage stays beautifully attractive. It serves as a host plant for the Columbine duskywing butterfly, making it a great choice for supporting pollinators. This plant prefers partial shade but can also tolerate full sun, and typically grows 1–3 feet tall.

Spicebush: I started these last year and super excited because this hosts one of my favorite butterflies; the spicebush swallowtail. The cutest caterpillars ever too. Spicebush, Lindera benzoin, is a fast growing large shrub with yellow flowers in the spring and red berries in the fall. It thrives best is partial to full shade. You will need a male and female plant to produce the fall berries, but either plant will bring the butterflies.

I finally have Tennessee coneflower available($5/pot). I’ve had several people asking for them. Tennessee coneflowers have pink petals and shorter than the regular ones, only getting up to 2 ft. They love a dry sunny spot, but can tolerate some shade and water. This coneflower use to be endangered and is a unique cedar glade plant.
