As many of you know, I'm in flooring. Our family has owned & operated our floor covering store for 28 years.

Just wanted to pass this on.......

Price local stores in addition to the big box stores & discount warehouses (you know who they are). I just had a customer I've done work with before come in on Monday. They got a fully installed quote from one of those places for some floating vinyl plank. They just happened to go by there on a Saturday as I'm not open on the weekends. After I quoted her, she informed me that we were almost a $1000 less. Wow!

Just because their product seems to be cheaper (most of the time we can compete), there are other ways to add on costs. Their product was a little cheaper per sf but the overall labor costs & amount of sf charged were significantly more. Even after the customer received 10% off for a military discount, we still came in almost $1000 less. So do your homework! Visit your local retail stores & support them. Thanks!
