I was asked the other day why don't I sand and finish both sides of my Scripture Plaques... I replied, "I leave the back of each Plaque unfinished to remind us where God found us when we found His son Jesus and became baptized."
We are very much like each chunk of wood I make into a Scripture Plaque, we are rough and scarred with many imperfections until God starts His work in us. As we submit to God's loving hands the imperfections begin to fade away into dust, those scars and imperfections in each of us becomes less and less pronounced. As we fully submit to God's desires for us, like each piece submits to the sanding block, we become refined and truly something to behold. Layer after layer of finish is applied but in between the sanding block must be applied to roughen and dull the surface to prepare it to be finished again, it becomes a bit more beautiful and yet again it must be made ugly to apply another coat of beauty.
When I resist the ways of God, God brings out the sanding block to rough me up a bit, to make my stubbornness and my sinful self be turned into dust so the Beauty of God may be seen and realized by all, especially by me. My love for God goes into each piece that these God given hands work on. It is by His blessing that I am able to do this and by His blessing it can be yours.
Pick a favorite or meaningful Scripture verse around 150-200 letters and I will engrave it on a chunk of wood and begin the sanding and finishing work to make it beautiful and cherished just as God sees you. Right now my supply is mostly Sycamore but Red Cedar comes in once and awhile.Ask and pay and Thou Shall Receive!!! Sorry couldn't resist that one. God Bless each and every one of you!!!
Most "chunks" of wood are 22inchesX14inches. They can be wall mounted or placed in a stand and prominently displayed on a shelf or table.
