Heat pump tax credits end December 31, 2025. High efficiency heat pump systems qualify for a $2,000 tax credit.
The new high efficiency heat pumps that have come out in the last couple years work much better then older heat pumps. Heat pumps pull heat out of the air outside to heat your home. Simular to how an air conditioner cools your home even when it is 100 degegrres outside. Older heat pumps put out around 50% heat at 20 degrees outdoor compared to the heat they put out at 50 degrees outdoors. They can not heat the home when it is that cold out and you have to use electric heating elements as backup to heat the home. Electric heating elements are one of the most expensive forms of heating your home there is. Some of the new heat pumps have 100% heat output at -13 degrees. They should not need to use the electric heating elements at all. Saving the customer a lot of money.
These new systems are 100% modulating. Meaning there output is fully variable. Older systems are full throttle or no throttle. That is not how you get the best efficiency. You don't drive your car full throttle or no throttle for best efficiency. The heat pump and the blower motor run at a slower speed just to maintain temperature. The system is very quite. It also keeps the temperature more even or consistent through the house.
In 2025 dual fuel applications qualify for the tax credit. Previously the house had to have electric backup heat to qualify for the tax credit. Natural gas is pretty cheap to heat with. This is a system we just installed this week. 96% efficiency natural gas furnace. 18 SEER2 efficiency horizontal modulating heat pump. The fancy heat pump will not save a lot of money in the winter like it would if they had electric backup. But will save around 50% on the cooling bill VS there old air conditioner. With the tax credit the customer got a very nice high efficiency air conditioner (heat pump) for not very much more than your basic 13.4 SEER2 single stage system.
Give us a call to see what we can do for you before the tax credits expire.

Really nice installation we did last week. This is my personal favorite system right now. Really nice high efficiency system without costing a ton of money. Good bang for the buck high end system. Almost as good as the best they make for a lot less than the best they make.
96% efficiency two stage natural gas furnace. Modulating 18.5 SEER2 side discharge air conditioner. Air conditioner has a smaller footprint. Works great in certain situations. Like this one. Air conditioner is also extremely quit. Normal new air conditioner is around 74 dB noise. This one is only 54 db at full output. Custom 24" x 24"x4" Air filter cabinet. Great air filtration and easy to change air filters.
This two story home was not previously zoned. Always hotter upstairs with one system on a house that is not zoned. We added a thermostat downstairs, zone board, and dampers to the home at the same time as the new system. 2 stage furnace and modulating air conditioner will work great with the new zoning when only one zone is calling for heat or cool. Talk about a major upgrade to this home.
Give us a call or send us a message to get a quote for a new furnace, air conditioner, water heater, and zone systems. Giving good deals and can fit you in soon before summer arrives. 😎

A CONVERSATION ABOUT PERCEIVED VALUE:

A customer asked a contractor friend of mine how much it would cost to do this project.

My friend gave him a proposal: $4500

The customer responded: That’s seems really high.

My friend asked: What do you think is a reasonable price for this job?

The customer answered: $2500 maximum

My friend responded: Ok, then I invite you to do it yourself.

The customer answered: I don't know how to.

My friend responded: Alright, then how about for $2500 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $2000, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future.

The customer answered: Sounds good! Let’s do it!

My friend responded: Great! To get started, you are going to need some tools. You will need a chop saw, table saw, cordless drill, bit set, router, skill saw, jig saw, tool belt, hammer, etc..

The customer answered: But I don't have any of those tools and I can't justify buying all of these for one job.

My friend responded: Ok. Well then for an additional $300 I can rent my tools to you to use for this project.

The customer answered: Okay. That’s fair.

My friend responded: Great! We will start the project on Monday.

The customer answered: I work Monday through Friday. I’m only available on the weekends.

My friend responded: If you want to learn from me then you will need to work when I work. This project will take 3 days so you will need to take 3 days off work.

The customer answered: That means I’m going to have to sacrifice my pay for 3 days or use my vacation time!

My friend responded: That’s true. Remember, when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors.

The customer answered: What do you mean by that?

My friend responded: Doing a job completely from start to finish includes time spent to plan the project, pick up materials, travel time, gas, set up time, clean up, and waste disposal amongst other things. That’s all in addition to the actual project itself. And speaking of materials, that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me at the lumberyard at 6:00am.

The customer answered: At 6am?!! My work day doesn’t usually start until 8am!

My friend responded: Well then you’re in luck! My plan is to start on the deck build by 8am. But to do so we have to start at 6am to get materials picked up, loaded and delivered to your job site.

The customer answered: You know, I’m realizing that a lot more goes in to a job than what a customer sees in the finished project. Your proposal of $4500 is very reasonable. I would like you to handle the project.

CONCLUSION:

When you pay for a job, especially a custom job, (whether it’s a physical project or digital project) you pay not only for the material and the work to be completed. You also pay for:

✔️ Knowledge
✔️ Experience
✔️ Custom Skills
✔️ Tools
✔️ Time to plan
✔️ Time to prepare
✔️ Professionalism
✔️ Work Ethic
✔️ Excellence
✔️ Discipline
✔️ Commitment
✔️ Integrity
✔️ Taxes
✔️ Licenses
✔️ Sacrifices
✔️ Liabilities
✔️ Insurance
✔️ Permits

If you request a proposal for custom work to be done, please don’t disrespect a service provider by trying to get them to lower their prices.

If their proposal exceeds your budget, there’s nothing wrong with getting other proposals.

Just remember.. you get what you pay for.

👉🏼 SERVICE PROVIDERS: Know your worth and be confident in it.

👉🏼 CONSUMERS: Recognize their worth and be respectful of it.

I hope every one is having a great day.
I got to vent a little bit about the Facebook reviews rating. We should be a 5 star rating!!!!
Facebook says based on the opinion of 17 people. I have 33 five star reviews and 1 four star review. Customer said I did a great job and left a 4 star. I was a 5.0. Went to a 4.9 or 4.8 after the one four star review. Went back to a 5.0 rating after about nineteen 5 star reviews and the one 4 star. I have had no reviews since August of last year. I was a 5.0 rating at that time. I went to a 4.8 rating around 6 months ago for no reason Yesterday I see it dropped to a 4.6. How does my score change from a 5.0 to a 4.6 with no new reviews left? Makes me mad and is very frustrating.
Thank you all my customers for a great year. We were short staffed this last summer. We were still able to get to service calls and make repairs almost always same day. We try to never leave any one without heating or cooling. Sorry we did not get back to a few people in a timely manner on odds and ends things. Adding a gas line, adding a vent or moving a vent, etc.. We just hired another great service tech/installer a week ago. Got a big new van that is currently getting wrapped, shelves, tools, etc.. We will be hiring another apprentice installer to work with one of our Journeyman installers soon. Things are going great and hoping to stay caught up with every thing soon. That would be a miracle. lol. 😎

This was a great one we did earlier this summer. Customer just purchased a new house in Eagle. The home had electric base board heat with window air conditioners. No central heating and air. We installed all the ductwork in the home. Installed a new gas line and had a gas meter installed. 96% two stage furnace and 13 SEER air conditioner. 96% furnace qualifies for a $350 rebate from intermountain gas.

Very busy summer. Just trying to stay caught up with service calls and replacements. Here are a few pics from installations this summer. 😎
This was a big one. It is always hotter upstairs when your house is two stories with only one system.
We installed a new 2 stage gas furnace and 15 SEER air conditioner. Zoned the house. Split all the supply duct runs into two main supply trunks. One for upstairs and one for down stairs. Dampers in the ductwork are controlled by a zone board. One thermostat upstairs and one down stairs. Zone board controls everything with a discharge are temp sensor. Perfect temps upstairs and down stairs. Installed a Dust Free MicroPure air scrubber and a Merv 11 air filter to keep the indoor air quality up.
We also installed a new 75 gallon gas water heater. 😎

Give us a call to get put on the schedule for a AC service before it gets hot out. Once the weather gets warmed up we start getting really busy.
A couple of our great customers posted this or sent it to us. I thought it was too funny. True story... 😅
