Anybody else notice the crazy high winds today? Anybody have fences blown over or otherwise damaged? I'm happy to help get things fixed up if help is needed! According to KTVB, winds reached 60mph, so I'll reduce any repairs by $60 for repairs $400+ as a result of today's storms.

🚫 STOP overpaying Wayfair (and similar services) for assembly and installation!

Here’s why hiring a local professional like me directly is the better choice:

👉 Example 1: Playset Assembly
• Wayfair charges you $700.
• They outsource to Angi, who pays the contractor $102 for a 6+ hour job (less than $17/hr).
• I charge $550 (before discounts) — licensed, insured, and experienced.

👉 Example 2: Small Install
• Wayfair charges you $160.
• Angi pays the installer just $32.25 for 1.5 hours (≈$21/hr).
• I charge $150 (before discounts).

💡 The difference? By hiring me directly:
• You pay less out of pocket than going through a middleman.

I HATE YOU! To the person/people that buy a product, take parts out, then return it for a refund; you are a thief and a jerk. Stick it to those big box stores right? You know some of that crazy mark up they do is because of people like you, they offset the cost of known thievery they will have. So you add to the system that creates higher prices but don’t just stick it to the stores. The stores trust you and put it back on the shelves for people like me to buy. Except, now I am buying a not complete product, so I don’t have what I need to do my job, which means I need to waste my time going back to the store to replace the part you stole from. For any DIYer, that is obnoxious at best, but for a small business owner, that waste of time means I lose income, my job takes longer which means now I am late for my customers, which means I have unhappy customers, which means I can lose business, compromising my ability to provide for my family. Therefore, I hate you and you’re a selfish jerk.

PLEASE, do yourself a favor and remove all fixtures when painting. Otherwise this happens if you ever change out the fix...

Just a little PSA for all my local folks and a reminder of years past. We are going to be getting quite the bit of snow over the next several days and it may be just fine. But for those that were here at the time of snowmageddon and remember and you don’t want a repeat, consider purchasing a roof rake and clearing the snow from your roof to help prevent those ice dams that wrecked thousands of homes or collapsing roofs. Again, it may be fine, but what’s a little bit of work to make sure it doesn’t. This roof had about three inches, not bad. You REALLY want to consider it if it starts hitting 6”. That starts getting into high risk for dams and THOUSANDS of pounds on your roof.

EPIC HVAC FAIL!!! I arrived at the house today planning to reinstall a single fallen duct and call it an early day. Nope! Almost every connection was loose or falling, HVAC hanging from water lines, turns so tight the duct was almost creased shut, and junctions were not just poorly sealed, most were half connected. Not to mention the boot that is impossible to attach to the floor because the water pipe prevents it. All of this was just one house and is the biggest HVAC install fail I have ever seen.
