The ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) released its 2026 Trends Outlook, and here is what we are seeing land in Southwest Florida homes ☀️

The lanai counts as a real room now, not an amenity. Natural material is doing the work decor used to do, plaster, travertine, white oak, linen. And air and daylight moved out of wellness talk and into the actual spec, low VOC finishes included.

We look at where the light falls before we choose a single finish. That is what makes a room feel warm instead of decorated!

Outdoor room or better daylight, which would you fix first?

Every material in this primary bathroom remodel was chosen to feel warm before the sun comes up. Here is how.

The vanity wall does the heavy lifting: light oak cabinetry, a quartz countertop with a 3” mitered edge and soft veining, and aged brass fixtures throughout. We wrapped the mirror wall in a neutral grasscloth instead of paint, because texture is what makes a bathroom feel layered instead of flat. Then the shower flips the palette, large-format tile, floor to ceiling, with garden windows that pull in real greenery while you rinse off.

The detail everyone misses on the first watch: the toe-kick cabinet lighting. A single warm LED line beneath the vanity turns a nighttime bathroom trip into a soft glow instead of a blinding overhead switch. It is one of the smallest line items in a bathroom remodel and one of the most requested once clients live with it.

Save this one if a primary bath renovation is on your list!

Twelve showrooms. Four rounds of samples. Six weeks of picking tile.

And that's just the backsplash.

We like the version where you get your Saturdays back and spend your time on the things you love.

We work through the selections together, and it ends with a clear direction we can build the whole space around.

Quartz and quartzite share four letters and two very different origins. Here is how we choose between them.

Quartzite is natural stone, quarried in slabs, with veining formed over geologic time. Quartz is engineered, ground stone bound with resin and pigment, so the pattern you approve is the pattern you receive.

Both are good decisions. The difference is in how we work with each one.

Quartz samples come to the site with us and sit against the cabinet samples in the room’s own daylight, because a warm white can shift once the afternoon light comes through. Quartzite is chosen slab by slab at the yard, and that single selection is what makes a kitchen feel custom.

Then the details are settled together: edge profile, seam placement reviewed on the drawing before a cut is made.

The surface is chosen once, on paper, before the slab is reserved. Everything after follows from it.

Planning a renovation and looking for a structured design process? That is exactly how we work.

Every project moves through the same stages, in the same order.

We begin with how you live, develop the design, and present the finished rooms in full before a single piece is moved in the home.

You see drawings and renderings of every space. Selections documented, dimensions confirmed, each material chosen against the cabinetry, the light, and the rooms on either side of it.

Once you approve, we handle sourcing, ordering, and on-site coordination.

Whole-Home Design. Kitchen and Baths. Entertainment Centers. Furnishings and Window Treatments. Smart Home Integration.

One plan, one team, carried from the first drawing to the final piece placed.

We take a limited number of projects each season, and the earliest conversation is the most useful one.

Before & After. This primary bathroom went from outdated to timeless. You won’t believe what it used to look like.

A tub that was never used. A shower that didn’t serve the space. Our client wanted a bathroom that feels like a spa — so we removed the tub entirely and reimagined the layout.

Aged brass fixtures, porcelain tile, marble, grasscloth wallpaper, and natural light through three windows. Nothing cold. Nothing temporary. Every detail chosen with intention.

If your home feels stuck in the 2000s, we’d love to help you refresh it.

Designing a beautiful home with kids & pets doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style for durability. 🤍

These are 3 of my go-to recommendations for a home that’s meant to be lived in:

•Performance fabrics for easier cleanup and everyday durability
•Quartz countertops for a low-maintenance, non-porous surface
•Low-pile or washable rugs for easier cleaning when spills, crumbs, and muddy paws happen

Good design should work for your lifestyle, not make you afraid to live in your home.

Which of these would you add to your home first? 💬 Drop your favorite tip in the comments, or share your own kid and pet friendly design must haves! And don’t forget to save this for your next remodel or furniture refresh.
