One of the best parts of making music is getting to do it alongside people who inspire you. I’m surrounded by some ridiculously talented, creative friends, and I don’t take that for granted.
The older I get, the more I realize that making art with your friends is one of life’s greatest gifts. Especially the moments where something beautiful comes out of absolutely nowhere.
A lot of the things I’m most proud of started as a simple “can you help me make this thing?”
is one of the most talented musicians I know. Im so thankful he made it to nashville and was able to help me out. Thanks for bringing me a peice of cape Breton I could tuck away into this song.

I’ve been waiting a long time to share this one.
“Great Big Sea” is out everywhere on June 30th. 🌊
This song carries a little bit of home, a little bit of distance, and a lot of the things I’ve been trying to put into words over the last few years. More dark costal vibes are enroute. Written between kennington cove, the Louisbourg Lighthouse, and late nights on my folk’s front porch, it’s one of my favourite songs I’ve released.

My beautiful family came to visit me in Nashville this week. So much sweetness. This week I started tracking one of my favourite tunes ive written. is a genius. It felt so nice to show my folks the things I’m working towards. They brought my favourite coffee and my favourite pups all the way down from Cape Breton.

9 weeks in Nashville.
Lots of work 😅, driving around, catching live music when I can. Been a bit homesick here and there, but starting to find a rhythm with it. I get to to creat with some really amazing andtalented people down here; makes it all a lot easier and a lot more fun.

This one is called Roger’s Cove. He is one of the toughest people I ever knew. I can’t believe he’s gone. He always supported my choice to be muscian and a song writer and always told me how proud he was of me for what I was doin. He was always sending me painting ideas and pics from the ocean that he thought i should paint. He was my biggest supporter on tiktok 😂 and I’m so glad I have all his comments and messages. What a character. Love and miss ya uncle roger.

My season of being in Cape Breton full timeis coming to a close. I move back to Nashville, TN on Saturday. It’s been so sweet andive made life long friends in this last season of life. Some of the most beautiful people ive ever known are here on this island. They perfectly reflect the landscape we call home. It isnt a good bye but more a “I’ll see you in the summer” 😂. I love Cape Breton Island with my all my heart. She will always be home.
