Let me tell you all about them... ☺️

Pothos are an extremely popular houseplant, for many different reasons! They are very common and affordable, can grow under any type of light (even fluorescent) easy to care for and propagate, and look absolutely beautiful in any room, from offices to homes across the country. Pothos are also well known for indoor purification of chemicals, from formaldehyde, benzene and much more!! 😱

🟢 Visually, with the the N'joy, the green color starts from the inside of the leaf, and solid white on the outer corner of the leaves. The separation between the two colors do not follow the shape of the leaf and it has no uniform form but its own funky curvy shape.

🟢 With the Marble Queen, the variegation is a mix of green, light green, and white. The variegation is not consistent in every leaf but there’s a pattern to them. For example, sometimes one half of the leaf is completely green and the other side is mostly white with green splashes.

Tillandsia ionantha is one of the most colorful of the air plants and is a part of the genus Tillandsia from the Bromeliaceae family.

🌱 The air plants are pretty special, because they can grow on almost anything without the need for soil 👀

🌞 The Ionantha varieties love to soak up the sun, so they should also be kept in an area that gets adequate light, each and every day. 🌞

It's recommended to soak the plant once or twice a week depending on the environment, and regular misting as needed. 💧🔫
These babies are perennial plants, meaning that they typically live for more than two years! Their lifespan typically ranges between 2 to 5 years.😍

Unique to ONLY air plants are these small hairs on their leaves, called Trichomes. Trichomes are used to absorb water & grab harmful chemicals and toxins from the air like formaldehyde and benzene!!!! 😱 They also photosynthesize at night as most plants do. In other words, they release fresh oxygen, which allows you to breathe clean air even as you are sleeping! 🥱😴

Are you ready for all the spooky and scary things this fall season?!

Here at The Bare Root we have been experimenting with some new trellis for some of our climbers!

This trellis we are test printing in particular is over 15 inches tall and perfect for your bigger climbing philos!

Coming to a night sky this Saturday - the Full Harvest Moon🌕

The Harvest Moon is the full Moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox. (The Harvest Moon usually occurs in September, though there are some years when it falls in early October.) 
 
At equinox, due to the Earth’s tilt, the Moon rises a bit sooner than it does at other times of the year. As a result, farmers and gardeners receive extra light for gathering crops. 
 
At the core of harvest time celebration is the recognition of what has come to fruition, what has grown from the seeds that each of us have planted—physically and metaphorically. 
 
It is a time of having gratitude and giving thanks. What have you accomplished and who helped you along the way?
