The holiday season should feel joyful… but for so many parents, it ends up being the season with the least margin and the highest mental load.
This week I share a newsletter that breaks down 7 holiday DOs & DON’Ts to help you create more capacity and actually enjoy this season. The heart of it?
✨ Doing more doesn’t make the season meaningful. Being present does.
A few highlights:
🎄 You don’t have to do every tradition.
Pick one or two that bring real joy to your family this year. Simple, flexible memories are the ones kids remember most.
🗓️ Kids thrive on knowing what’s coming.
December is overstimulating. Having a visible calendar (even a simple one on the fridge) helps everyone feel more grounded and reduces the “Wait… that’s tonight?!” moments.
📆 Most of us sprinkle PTO in like paper cuts and wonder why we never actually feel rested. Your nervous system can’t flip between work and holiday mode like a light switch. Even a 2–3 day stretch off can shift your whole presence
