🌪️ We have dangerous storms and the potential for strong tornadoes heading our way shortly so let’s talk about storm damage for a bit!
If a tree lands on your home…
🏡 1) Get out of the house and go to a safe location. We have had trees settle further and sections of homes crash on top of our crew trying to remove a tree from inside a home. The unexpected can and will happen and you can be seriously injured.
📸 2) Take pictures if you’re able. Call your insurance company or agent! Leave a message. Then call again at opening hours if you haven’t heard back yet.
🧐 3) While you’re waiting, go ahead and search for a trusted, reputable, reliable, and experienced company you would like to remove the storm damage threat from your property. That’s right, I said a company YOU would like to do the job. Homeowners have rights, and as policyholder, you have the right to choose the contractor you want to repair or replace your damaged property. It’s important to keep in mind your insurance company may suggest contractors they frequently work with (including us!) but understand they are just that – suggestions. You are not obligated to use them.
Find a company that is experienced in storm damage removal with excellent reviews and recommendations from locals who will save you and your insurance company money in the end by preserving the remainder of your property.
⚠️ Don’t try to remove, trim, or tarp yourself! If you want coverage you pay for, leave it alone. If you want to avoid self harm, leave it alone. Watch out for downed power lines. When it’s dark outside, it’s hard to see all the dangers. Leave the tarping to the restoration or roofing company as they help assess damage for the adjuster.
⛈️ Call the storm damage company (either tree or restoration) you chose to come out and work with your insurance company/agent and claims adjuster to provide you fast, safe, and professional service.
🏗️ About our team: We have a grapple saw crane truck, a 24/7 crew ready to go at any time of night, 9 years of experience with proper storm damage removal, Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified Arborist on site, and we are insured WITH WORKERS COMP. That’s a huge one. We only quote and invoice the insurance company based off competitive industry pricing and never want you to pay us out of your own pocket.
💚 There are some amazing local agents and companies we have personally worked with over the past few years. Reach out if you need recommendations!
⚡️ Stay safe! Please have plans in place now! Find your nearest shelter and please do not stay in a mobile home. Simply put- aside from a tornado….falling trees can kill you even if you’re in your home or vehicle. Stay weather aware with a radio.
