I love the day before Thanksgiving. It's a holiday in our household. The day that we bake the pies and go through our things to donate to local charity shops. Also the time to change the batteries in all of the smoke detectors. This year's dessert list for Thanksgiving is 4 pumpkin pies, two chocolate pies, 8 mini chocolate pies for the little ones, 1 cheesecake, a batch of Christmas crack, an apple pie, a triple batch of pretzel salad and a pecan pie. Tomorrow's dinner starts at 2pm and anyone who's hungry is invited. Even if I think you're a d*ck, I'll feed you. Sixteen have confirmed to be here and I'm sure a few others will turn up at some point. We're serving two types of stuffing. Both traditional from Mom's recipe book and a seafood stuffing that I've perfected over the years. Ham, baked turkey as well as a fried turkey provided by one of my loyal customers. Candied carrots, an experimental Mac and cheese, Mina's green beans ala Chinese buffet style, the best damned mashed potatoes this side of the hemisphere, sweet potatoes that are mashed with just the right amount of salted butter and fresh cracked pepper, Tara southern grits styled fresh baked rolls and of course the joy that is canned jellied cranberry sauce. We'll be streaming the Thanksgiving day parade live and then will be playing highlights from our favorite parades over the years until after dinner when it's time for our annual Mortal Kombat tournament.
