I had a couple who purchased a home last December. It was carpeted throughout (yes even the bathrooms) and there was a desire to improve the air quality in the home. We decided engineered hardwood was the best solution, and after searching out a reasonably priced supplier, work got underway. With holidays, unexpected surprises, and add-on’s it took a month to complete, but the after is stunning.

That same couple wanted a door that mom could close to add privacy. They didn’t want it to swing into the room, so the best solution was a large, rather heavy, barn door

Had a couple who is creating a special room for her mother. She asked if it was possible to put in a patio door for mom. Well, the framing was there for a window, so a door was a piece of cake…….the challenge came when both the inside and outside wall coverings were discontinued. I had to recreate it all with materials I could at the lumberyard then mill

This was a fun one

I had a friend whose mother uses a rolling chair to get around the kitchen. The existing floor was 1/2 tile, 1/2 hardwood with holes where old plumbing and electrical came through the floor. Needles to say it was both difficult and dangerous to navigate the kitchen. For about $125 in sanded plywood, some stain, and some polyurethane, I was able to create a rustic floor that was smooth, and safe for her. Along the way I was assisted by some future carpenters and was given the title of “best guy ever” by the youngest helper. What more does a guy need?

I had the opportunity to design a “Dream Kitchen”. It was one heck of an order and as you can see, it was lots and lots of boxes. The last picture is after one day of unboxing, assembling and hanging.

”Some Assembly Required”

I had a client request to assemble a gazebo structure. They had purchaced a kit from a big box store and it arrived as two boxes of parts. That actual ”construction” part was fairly straight forward and could easily have been completed by the homewners, but they just couldn’t afford the time. That’s where we came in.

Sometimes the smallest jobs can be the most challenging, yet can leave the biggest impact. These doors (Entry and Storm) gave me fits, but with a little patience and perseverance, I was able to transform the front of this house. The homeowners were thrilled and I was able to install them both for far less than the big box store.
