Zome!!! Finishing the interior. Rockwool insulation and cedar paneling... Trimming out the 10 sided cap window was quite the task, 80 pieces of trim and many trips up and down the ladder. Next time Ill use a scoffold 🙃

The side window looks down to the beautiful Yuba river, you can hear it flowing along from up here at the site.

Just completed another sauna. This one is 7'x9' with to L benches and a wood burning stove. Mostly cedar from a local mill. The outside is covered in live edge cedar lap and an earthen plaster. Thanks Dijahn and Ashley for the help, cant wait to fire it up 🔥

Helping a friend Avani finishing out a funky fun strawale in Wiilits, Ca. The previous resident builder got it roughed in and lived in it for a while. Building out the walls w a chopped straw-clay mix to add more sheer and shaping. Grateful for the help from students at a local farm school. Aways a pleasure to get in the mud w friends!

This is the time to give... We're fast approaching the April 4th deadline of the land back fundraising for the local Nevada City Nisenan Tribe. Its long overdue for them to be able to resettle and have a place to call home again. If you live in Nevada County, please join in and support.

There's a very good chance they'll make the 1.5 million needed, but still need 200k more. All donations between now and Thursday will be doubled!

Community sauna! Love how this project came together, and look forward to gathering w others… The sauna features woodchip-slip infill with earth plaster on the interior and a lime render on the outside. Living roof and locally milled cedar and timbers. Kudos to the clients for handling the building effort, and organizing folks. It turned out beautifully 🔥

The shell is completed for this 16’ zome. Each of the 60+ panels were ripped, mitered, and assembled by hand. Plans came from , very easy to follow and came together without a glitch. The top will be fitted with clear poly panels for a 10-sided skylight. Exterior will be sheathed in custom metal panels. Super fun project :)

Garden Walls!! We had fun this last weekend getting started on moving this project forward. This is a 25’ run of the full 70’ stretch.
The body of the wall is done super adobe style, with the top covered and shaped with heavy straw-clay. It’ll be finished with a lime render from top to bottom.
