🎁Looking for a holiday gift for someone you know? Give them the gift of knowledge and have them join Purdue Extension Master Gardeners! Join a group of others interested in horticulture to learn about plant science, plant diseases, insects, animal pests, growing fruit and vegetables, soils, and much more!

⏰Hurry though! Just three days left to sign up for the upcoming 2026 Master Gardener course! Training runs every Thursday from Jan 8th – April 16th at the Purdue Technology Center. Participants can choose from either our 1–4PM or 6–9PM class time.

📆Registration closes December 4th. The course fee is $200.

Some of our counties have a frost warning for tonight and a FREEZE warning for tomorrow night!
What does this mean for your plants?
For most plants like trees, shrubs and perennials, this weather is just another signal to wrap it up for the season and head into dormancy. Let nature take its course.
Pansies, mums and ornamental cabbage/kale will not need any protection from the weather. This is their time to shine! However, ornamental peppers would like a little cover. A paper bag or a light sheet will work. Do not use plastic!
It's also time to bring in any houseplants or tropicals that have been outside, if you haven't already.

It’s that time again — the annual indoor jungle shuffle! 🌿
As temps drop, houseplants start migrating back inside… and somehow we’re all rearranging furniture to find that one sunny window. ☀️
Bring your green friends in before nights dip below 50°F — and if you need advice on light levels or pest checks, we’re happy to help! 💚
