Common Yarrow is a powerhouse native plant for pollinators! Its flat topped clusters of tiny flowers provide an easy landing pad for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Blooming for much of the summer, yarrow offers a reliable nectar source while helping support biodiversity in gardens and natural spaces. It’s extremely drought tolerant and low maintenance once established!

Not all pollinator plants do the same job

🦋Nectar plants provide energy for adult pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, think of them as the “fuel stops” of the garden.

🐛Host plants are where many butterflies and moths lay their eggs, and their caterpillars feed on the leaves, think “nursery & food source.”

A healthy pollinator garden needs both!!

We had so much fun painting bird houses at Camp Creek's Pollinator Palooza! Many thanks to our fabulous volunteers, Aubri Hutcheson, Deborah Shackleford, Cindy Luther and Victoria Rutherford, who gave of their Saturday afternoon to spread some joy and help our community learn more about birds!
