Moving into 2026, we’re seeing a major shift away from "clinical white" toward warm minimalism. Think soft mushroom tones, white oak cabinetry, and natural stone with dramatic veining. The goal? Making your kitchen feel like a hug and your bathroom feel like a restorative spa. At Anchor Bay, we’re already bringing these "organic modern" vibes to life for our clients.

Want to see how these trends fit your home? Let’s chat: (586) 725-3500.

A common mistake in bathroom and kitchen remodeling is relying solely on overhead lights. To avoid shadows while prepping food or applying makeup, you need Task Lighting. Under-cabinet LEDs in the kitchen or sconces at eye level in the bath are game-changers for functionality. Let’s light up your home: (586) 725-3500.

Proper ventilation is the most overlooked part of a bathroom remodel. Without a correctly sized exhaust fan, moisture can damage your new cabinetry and lead to mold. We ensure your "behind-the-walls" mechanics are just as high-quality as your new tile. Discuss your project with a pro: (586) 725-3500.

A beautiful kitchen is only as good as it functions. When planning a layout, consider the "traffic paths"—ensure that the path between your refrigerator and prep area doesn't cross paths with the main walkway through the house. Our team focuses on optimizing these movements to make your daily routine effortless. Expert advice is a phone call away: (586) 725-3500.

"What's the difference between quartz and granite?" is one of the most common questions we get. And it's a good one—because the answer isn't just about looks.

Here's the honest breakdown:

Quartz is engineered, which means it's non-porous, incredibly durable, and nearly maintenance-free. You don't have to seal it, stains wipe right off, and it's consistent in color and pattern. If you want reliability and low upkeep, quartz makes sense.

Granite is natural stone, which means every slab is unique. It needs to be sealed periodically, but it holds up beautifully to heat and adds that authentic, one-of-a-kind look. If you love natural variation and don't mind a bit of maintenance, granite delivers.

Marble is stunning—there's no denying it. But it's softer, more prone to staining and etching from acidic foods. It's best for people who embrace the patina that develops over time, or for lower-traffic areas like bathroom vanities.

Quartzite (not to be confused with quartz) is natural stone that's harder than granite, heat-resistant, and can mimic the look of marble without as much maintenance. It's a great middle ground if you want natural beauty with better durability.

So what's the right answer? It depends on how you actually live. Do you cook a lot? Have kids? Want something you can basically ignore? Or do you love the idea of a surface that ages and tells a story?
There's no wrong choice—just the one that fits your life. And we're here to help you figure out which that is.
