Even the cashier had never seen this before. It was only because I picked up a bottle of chicken wine that was on promotion at the register that it happened. And we don’t want to run short with a party tomorrow.

Let’s talk about that microwavable grilled cheese maker that came out a few months ago. If this product ever comes back, I highly recommend grabbing one. While it may seem lazy to some people, I actually think it’s pretty genius. I can think of so many reasons why it’s worth the purchase like college students who don’t have access to a stove, parents teaching young kids how to cook, people looking for easier cleanup, or older adults who no longer feel comfortable cooking over an open flame and it’s dish washer safe.
The first time we used it, I let my kids do everything by themselves. They lightly wiped the plates with olive oil, assembled the sandwhich, put the plates together, and cooked it in the microwave. My 10-year-old made the second one completely by herself, which is the more toasted sandwich in the last picture. For that one, we used ghee instead of olive oil before assembling and microwaving it.
Both sandwiches came out amazing. Some of you know, both of my children have food sensitivities and food aversions. One prefers crunchy foods and the other prefers softer textures. When we used the olive oil, the grilled cheese was fully cooked but stayed softer, which my son ended up loving. He ate about a quarter of the sandwich, which for his first time ever trying grilled cheese is a huge win and definitely not something I’m complaining about. 🎉
When we used the ghee, it came out nice and crispy, exactly how my daughter likes it. All in all, I absolutely love this grilled cheese maker and honestly don’t think I’ll be pulling out a frying pan to make grilled cheese again. I was also pretty excited that I found it on clearance for around $3, which made it an even better purchase. 🙌🏽❤️

🍞🍞🍞
I recently got some of the Aldi Almond Butter to try. I don’t think I’ve have a lot of almond butter so I’m not sure how theirs compares to others, but I really liked it. Trying to add some variety in my life so I thought I’d splurge on almond butter as an alternative to just using peanut butter. I included the nutritional info for those who are interested. I found it on the endcap with the peanut butter, jelly & honey at my store in Leesburg, Va.

I have never seen a stove like this one. Does anybody know anything about them? It is beautiful!

Just a bunch of women who voluntarily spent their Saturday evening singing together so we'd be ready for Sunday morning service.
No wild adventures, no glamorous plans, just choir practice, laughter, and making sure we hit the right notes (or at least most of them).
Peak Dull Women activity. 🎶
Happy Saturday...

Found this weird little thing at a vintage market in Havana. It appears to be molded plastic. The man's "part" moves up and down. Any idea, anyone? 😅

Look at these gorgeous matching dresses my "talented wife" made for our twin daughters! 🙄
Okay, I need to come clean about something. I didn't make these. My husband did. And he makes me take credit for ALL of his incredible sewing work because he's convinced that people will think it's "weird" for a man to sew children's clothes.
This man can create the most intricate smocking, perfectly matched patterns, and detailed embroidery that puts my own crafting skills to shame. He spends hours getting every ruffle just right, every seam perfectly aligned. When people compliment "my" work at playgroups or family gatherings, I feel terrible taking credit for his artistry.
I keep telling him there are tons of male sewers and crafters on the Tedooo app who share their work proudly and have thriving businesses. I've shown him posts from men who make everything from quilts to children's clothing, and their customers love supporting their creativity. But he just shakes his head and says "maybe someday."
Meanwhile, I'm over here selling my basic crochet items through my Tedooo shop while his masterpieces sit in our daughters' closets with everyone thinking I'm some kind of sewing genius.
I just wish he could see what I see - that his talent deserves to be celebrated, not hidden. These girls are going to grow up thinking their mama made all their beautiful clothes, when really it was their daddy who stayed up late perfecting every detail because he loves them so much.
How do I convince him that the world needs to see his amazing work?

Too dull?
Does anyone else do this? I only eat half of a banana with yogurt for breakfast, so I cut one in half while it’s still hanging. Neater that way.
Oh btw, the wooden banana hanger was hand crafted by my brother. (Trying to find the right balance here between too dull, and a little interesting.)
Female, US shoe size 9 1/2, and I guess the banana for scale thing is moot.
UPDATE. Wow, I never expected so many comments. 😄. And it seems a large number of folks are really concerned with gnats, flies, bacteria, germs, and possibly King Kong breaking in and eating my half banana, along with the other two bananas and me. 😳
Hey I grew up on a farm. Not so fussy. (Besides, now I live in a basically hermetically sealed air conditioned condominium. We don’t really get fruit flies. LOL!)

Ok don’t come at me, I’m not blaming Aldi here. Also I know this isn’t “aisle of shame” related, but idk where else to ask. Lol
Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.
A few days ago I bought this cucumber from Aldi. I came home and cut half of it into slices and put it in a plastic container in my fridge for them to grab as they please.
Well 2 days went by and no one had eaten any so I pulled them out to dish them out with their lunch. As I was plating, I ate one of the slices. It tasted absolutely TERRIBLE! It honestly tasted like chemicals. I know that sounds odd but idk I how else to describe it.
I thought maybe the cucumbers absorbed the taste from the plastic container… so I grabbed the other half from the fridge which was in a glass container and tasted it.. same thing. Absolutely disgusting 🤢
I’ve never experienced this with cucumbers before and this one was still very crunchy and firm. It wasn’t mushy or anytime. Other than the taste it seemed perfect. So weird! And a little disappointed! I know Aldi is great about “returns” or getting new ones, but I also hate abusing the system like that. Should I say something?
