Good evening, everyone! I would like to apologize to anyone who has submitted an estimate request form through my page. The website was supposed to send an email with the attached form every time one was submitted, but evidently, that was not working properly, thus every request had gone ignored. As soon as I realized that was the case, I immediately fixed the form and its settings and tested the form a few times. It is now working properly. Again, I sincerely apologize. The unanswered requests were completely unintentional. Thank you!

Just a simple storage closet rehab! The previous installer somehow managed to miss *every single stud* in these walls whilst handing the previous shelving components. As a result, support rails were pulling out of the wall, shelves were bowing like crazy, and support tracks at the top were bending and at risk of falling. Every single horizontal and vertical support component of the new shelves is fastened into the framing of the wall. You could lay on these shelves, no problem. The client also wanted to add some shelving on the right side while still accommodating floor and stand-up storage. No issues there. Another one in the books!

Another job wrapped! This was a solid bathroom update that turned out great. Getting the grab bars properly situated took a lot of patience and mapping out dimensions, in addition to various pieces of blocking to ensure the grab bars were fully supported and fastened. They aren't going anywhere, ever.

It always satisfying putting the finishing touches on a bathroom vanity setup. Especially when your client brings cookies and pretzels as a thank you!😆

Failed to get a before photo of this portico railing, but that's alright. Why? Because now it looks exactly like it did about 80 years ago when it was installed. The only two differences are the PVC trim boards used as rotproof accents and the KDAT lumber instead of cedar. KDAT is an interesting material being that it is treated lumber which is subsequently kiln dried, allowing it to be stained or painted immediately. Treated lumber, on the other hand, must be allowed to dry for 6-9 months depending on outdoor conditions before it can be finished. Using KDAT allowed us to prime and paint the railing immediately after installation. The clients are thrilled with the results, and I am thrilled to be off the roof! Mainly because the recent rains kept us from our finish coat of paint for about 2 weeks.😑

This was a fun project to take on, despite the army of mosquitos.

I had the privilege of working with my cousin on this one, owner of Terra Firma Landcare & Design. He came in to do all the concrete in this client's backyard. I was tasked with residing this rear entry wall, figuring out a detail for the odd framing condition, and rebuilding the stoop roof. Of course, you never know what you'll find when digging into a remodel. In this case, we found out the room in question was framed out on top of a previous deck. But we corrected all the framing concerns in the wall, got it weatherproofed, and put some clean looking charcoal siding on for a fresh look. Oh, and added a couple outlets. Because no one has ever been upset about easily accessible power.

It's been a while since I posted last. It's been a busy year. This sunroom took a lot of creativity and patience to wrap up. I received a call from one of my first clients I ever worked with and was asked to check out some rot they noticed on the trim inside this sunroom. The photo of the rot doesn't even begin to express how bad it was. Frankly, I was surprised the sunroom didn't start to sink/pull away from the house. I reframed probably around 80% of the wood (what was left, anyway), had all new brick laid with a proper step instead of a 10" drop, and resided an adjacent wall due to rot and poor cuts around all the mechanical penetrations. After the outside was buttoned up, I rehabbed the interior drywall and trim work to match the original. No more moisture, no more bugs, and most importantly, no more rot!

Another simple but satisfying job! I had the pleasure of working with Nate Yunk at Yunk Electrical Works (https://www.yunkelectricalworks.com) in this beautiful home to patch some old 6" can light holes and water stain areas. In addition to that, the homeowners asked me to reinstall some crown molding and clean up the joint between it and the ceiling. Good as new!
And if you're looking to have any electrical work done in your home or business, give Nate a shout!

Here's another personal project, technically done at the same time as my garage/patio project. I'm a huge fan of the craftsman style aesthetic and felt it would be a perfect fit for this 5x12 shed. Went up like a breeze!

Here is a personal project I worked on during the summer, 2023. I would be remiss if I didn't mention having plenty of help on this one. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. It certainly pays to have good friends! Haha

Long story short, this "sunroom" was in bad shape and I knew when I bought my house that I would have to deal with it one way or another. I finally found the time and I'm glad I did. For some context, one corner of the roof had sagged so bad that I could literally swing the wall from the rafters once the roof was jacked back up into the correct plane. Brand new roof (after removing over ONE INCH of old shingles - probably 3 total rooves in all), plenty of rot repair in the roof sheathing, new beams around the perimeter of the covered patio, new facia boards, new concrete pad with footers, and all new metal work and soffit. Maybe I'll actually be able to enjoy the space in 2024! Haha

Talk about a headache. Backstory: I received a phone call about some water damage to a ceiling that needed to be repaired as part of an insurance claim. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, this family had a roof replaced over a decade ago. As it turns out, the company which did that replacement certainly didn't do it properly. The extent of rot, mold, and general damage to this ceiling was unbelievable, as you can clearly see from the photos (14' up on a vaulted ceiling, no less). I was surprised there wasn't a catastrophic failure in the framing which could've caused some serious injury to the clients. To put things into perspective, one of the rafters was cracked clean in half, supported only by the roof sheathing which IT was supposed to be supporting. Not to mention all of the material which had rotted away in previous years. Not a single component of this roof framing was standard - rafters were tapered from an odd 2x10 dimension down to a 2x6 over a 16' span. But, we were able to get things reframed to accept fresh insulation and drywall. All things considered, the clients were thrilled to have a safe end result which will last far longer than the previous one would've.
