Do you replant your over-sown seedlings? 🌱

We love to sow densely in our garden here at Pinetree, and that means thinning out a lot of tiny seedlings rows.

When we thin out our rows, we sometimes save the seedlings with the strongest root systems to replant in empty garden sections or spare containers 🪴

It’s a great way to grow more plants with what you’ve already started in your garden - and the more the merrier, right?

Our Wild Lupine Mix in all its blurple glory 💜

"These are some of the Wild Lupines from your seeds. I think they are fantastic. I have them everywhere!"

Thank you for sharing a slice of your garden with us!

While the colors in this perennial lupine mix are primarily shades of blue and purple, occasionally, you'll get some spots with pink or white 🪻

What growing zone are you in, and what are you planting this week?

We consider this last week of May our "safe zone" to start planting transplants and more sensitive varieties here in Maine!

Our weather and temps can be unpredictable through mid-spring, with random heat waves and surprise frosts, so late May is our garden green light 💚

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be direct sowing our squash, melons, and pumpkins! This timeline is especially optimal for us gardeners with shorter growing seasons - we're looking at you, unpredictable New England weather...

Happy Friday, gardeners!

Our reminder to find joy in the little things this weekend, whether you get into the garden or not... sometimes you've gotta just stop and smell the veggies 🥕🍅🥗

This little Sugar Cube melon is a perfect “single serve” size, with all the big flavor of a typical cantaloupe 🍈

We grew these in a small front yard melon patch last season, and couldn’t have been more happy with how they grew for us!
