Did you know Newman also designs lighting? To further engage our collective knowledge to improve communities, expand boundaries, and exceed expectations, Newman added lighting design to our suite of services in 2022. Led by Cait Toczko, IALD, CLD, WELL AP, LEED GA, who worked on many projects with Newman before joining us as Senior Lighting Designer, our lighting design practice enables us to integrate light throughout our design intentions from concept to post-occupancy.
Cait provides lighting design services for many of our projects at Newman and also works independently with other design firms, including Atelier Cho Thompson, Amenta Emma, and Wiskup Architecture. She also works directly with clients like Fairfield University and Skala Partners.
Cait is an integral part of design teams, developing and delivering effective lighting solutions in a wide variety of project types in the education, commercial, and community sectors. Her impressive list of lighting clients includes 17 universities, 19 corporate offices, 12 library and community organizations, 10 public and private K-12 schools, 9 healthcare institutions, and more.
Some highlights of Cait’s recent work with Newman, as seen in the grid above, include the 18 High Apartments in New Haven, Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford, Connecticut Hall at the University of Connecticut, Bowman Hall and the Quad Renovation at Fairfield University, the Middle Eastern and North African Cultural Community Suite at Yale University, and the Pond View Apartments in Farmington.
