David, born and raised in Maryland, began his journey in homebuilding as a teenager. A carpenter by trade he has invaluable hands-on experience with every aspect of carpentry from framing and interior trim to deck building and complete remodeling. For 18 years he was the Project Manager for Keswick Homes and oversaw the building process from start to finish. He has had his contractors license for

a few years and in 2016 decided to pursue his own construction company full time. His customers will attest to his hard work and total customer satisfaction. Another beautiful custom project completed by Coastal Trim & Design!

This space was transformed with a stunning coffered ceiling and custom built-in cabinetry surrounding the fireplace, creating a warm, elegant focal point for the entire room. We also added the faux wood beam mantel. The built-ins feature shaker-style cabinetry, natural wood tops, open shelving, and integrated LED lighting that beautifully highlights family photos and décor.

The coffered ceiling adds architectural detail and depth, while the custom millwork ties everything together for a timeless, high-end look.

One of our favorite parts of remodeling is seeing a homeowner’s vision come to life.

This master bath started with blue walls, an enclosed shower, and a large soaking tub that wasn’t being used. Fast forward a few weeks, and it has been transformed into a bright, modern, spa-like space with a custom walk-in shower, double vanity, and beautiful tile throughout.

What started as a smaller, closed-off kitchen is now one bright, open gathering space for this amazing family

We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room to completely transform the layout and create one large, functional kitchen perfect for entertaining and everyday life. Client discovered real hardwood hidden underneath the old LVP flooring! Instead of covering it back up, we refinished the hardwood throughout the entire first floor and it completely changed the feel of the home.

Even though we're still waiting on new hardware to complete this full New Market, MD kitchen transformation, I couldn't wait to give you a glimpse of this beauty. Everything has changed except the original oak cabinets! It's not only possible to achieve a whole different look; it's the smartest, most convenient, and cost-effective way to renovate in this day and age. What's changed: professionally refinished oak cabinets, flooring, appliances, countertops, backsplash, lighting, added molding on the ends and sides, and lastly, the wall color. We've gone from a dated 90's kitchen and stepped right into an attractive and fresh 2026 Coo Coo's Nest delight. Take a look.

As our summer kitchen series approaches, our excitement grows for warm temperatures, sunny dispositions, and soft interior colors. This New Market kitchen has undergone an incredible makeover, transitioning from lovely to genuinely stunning. The cabinets' color was the most noticeable change and has made a significant impact. With Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams, the space gained a sense of depth and a touch of warmth that contrasts nicely with the new white backsplash. The countertops were preserved, but the outdated backsplash was removed and replaced with a new tile design that extends to the base of the countertops, creating a more open and airy feel. A custom wood-stained hood now occupies the space where the microwave once stood above the range. This same wood stain was used for the new floors, pendant lights, island stools, and the ceiling beam that separates the kitchen and family room. The final flourish of brushed gold hardware completes this kitchen's transformation, making it a masterpiece.

Right now, these spaces are in the transformation stage — cabinets going in, tile work underway, and all the details coming together.

We’re just waiting on a few final materials to arrive so we can bring everything across the finish line on a few of these.

I couldn’t wait to get home tonight to post this fantastic collaboration with Coastal Trim and Design LLC General Home Improvement Contractor. David Krotz and his team added this gorgeous wood tone island, backsplash, trim work, and last but certainly not least, this incredible coffered ceiling in the adjacent family room. The old red walls now have updated warmer tones, remaining cabinets professionally refinished in Sherwin Williams color Shoji White, new pendant lights, granite countertops, and hardware. A perfect example of blending the old with the new and achieving amazing results. Take a look!!
