🏠Louisiana Homeowners, Attention! đźŹ
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LFHP) lottery opens Sept 18, at 8 AM through Friday, Sept 20, at 5 PM. Here’s what you need to know:
300 grants available up to $10,000 for FORTIFIED Roof Standard upgrades
Open to residents of Louisiana’s Coastal Zone, Lake Charles, Sulphur, and Westlake
Check eligibility: www.ldi.la.gov/fortifyhomes
Register during the 3-day window for a chance to be selected
Create a profile on the LFHP website before registering
Key Requirements:
âś… Primary residence with homestead exemption
âś… Active residential insurance with wind coverage (flood insurance if in FEMA flood zone)
âś… Home in good repair (to be verified by FORTIFIED Evaluator)
❌ Not eligible: New construction, condos, mobile homes
Don’t start any work before approval! If selected, you’ll be responsible for evaluation fees and costs beyond the grant amount.
