We are pleased to announce Francie Abell, John Mouton, and Ryan Green have become partners at Studio Kiro. They have been integral to building Studio Kiro’s work culture from the beginning, and each person brings a unique personality, talent, and skill set to every project. We are grateful to build a happy work environment with well-rounded people who care for each other, their families, their friends, and their communities. Our goal is to have a healthy balance between work and life and to have fun every day. We appreciate our clients, mentors, and collaborators in all fields (architecture, interior design, urban design, music & art, community-based planning, and development) for providing us with opportunities to learn and grow. Studio Kiro’s journey started 6 years ago and we’re excited to see what our future holds as we welcome our new partners Francie, John, and Ryan!

Last evening the Louisiana Landmark Society awarded the Dew Drop Inn with Excellence in Historic Preservation, recognizing the project as an outstanding example of restoration and rehabilitation in New Orleans. We’re happy to see this historic gem come to life once again and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of New Orlean’s rich architectural and musical culture. We thank our clients, collaborators, agencies, families, and significant others for their continued support.

This weekend Central City welcomed the Grand Re-Opening of the historic Dew Drop Inn. Music, laughs, and love filled the concert venue, and it warmed our hearts to join the community in celebrating the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The iconic music venue was brought back to life, as if the historic photos that inspired us had animated themselves. Studio Kiro is grateful to have been a part of the team of creatives and visionaries who worked to restore the legacy of a place that has contributed so much to the rich music culture of New Orleans. We extend a special “thank you” to owner Curtis Doucette for trusting us to help him realize this vision for the community. We are also grateful for the collaborative efforts of Gabrielle Begue, Jihad Doucette, Civic Studio, Ben Miller, Green Coast Enterprise, Hospitality Twins, Lauren Usher, Brandon Dupree, RGGC team and all the artists, investors, contractors, and dreamers who helped pull this project together.

We are very excited to see the progress on this new residence on Moss Street!

The project is beautifully situated between Bayou St. John and the St. Louis Cemetery, with stunning views of downtown, the fairgrounds, and the park. Central to the site is also the large existing oak tree, which the building has been carefully sited to protect, creating a great intimate courtyard in the middle of the residence.

We loved participating in Cosentino’s Mood Board Competition featuring the new Urban Crush & Le Chic collection!
We won third place for our fictional vibrant New Orleans themed teaching kitchen, “Bayou Kitchen & Bar Institute”. The concept focuses on the next generation of chefs and bartenders in the New Orleans area. The institute fosters a diverse and passionate culinary community dedicated to preserving and evolving the cities cuisine.

We are thankful to ENR for highlighting the renovation of Dew Drop Inn. At Studio Kiro, we take pride in the transformative work we are undertaking at this iconic site. We have been working with a wonderful team dedicated to preserving the Inn's rich cultural heritage. Studio Kiro would like to welcome Brianna Baldwin to our team as a full time architectural designer! Brianna has been working with us part time for the last year and a half and just recently graduated from Tulane University with a Masters in Architecture. Functionality of solid and void is a key driver for her designs. Functional design encompasses basic principles of need and positive mental stimulation for people. Experiences through problem solving within her education, exploration of cultures, and personal impacts of daily life is the momentum for her passion of design.
Beyond her interests in architecture she has creative interests in printmaking, hand drawing, and mural paintings.
