Morning reset by Aetos Grounds & Gardens.

Sidewalks cleared.
Intersection cleaned.
Stormwater paths reopened after utility work.
Living edge systems watered and maintained.

Kavesh continues evolving into a neighborhood-scale landscape system focused on:

• stormwater absorption
• shade and cooling
• pollinator support
• edible planting
• soil regeneration
• walkability and streetscape recovery

Not lawn care.
Living infrastructure built one block at a time.

“Buried the Christmas tree today.

Not in a landfill.
Not on the curb.

Back into the ground between two old New Orleans houses where rainwater runs, rosemary grows, and little boots crunch gravel after storms.

AGG is not really landscaping.
It’s remembering that waste can become soil, edges can become gardens, and forgotten spaces can become living systems again.

One bed at a time.”

0900 alley water main break.

Mulch, dense root systems, and healthy soil helped slow runoff and protect this Uptown New Orleans curbside garden.

Small recurring maintenance compounds over time.

Nature is infrastructure.

A narrow side yard can still function as:
• drainage corridor
• visual break
• habitat edge
• walking path
• cooling surface
• sculpture space

You do not need a large property to build atmosphere.

Morning light on a living curb strip.

What used to be compacted edge space is slowly becoming shade, habitat, cooling, and structure for the block.

Small systems matter — especially in cities like New Orleans where heat, water, and concrete dominate the landscape.

AGG focuses on layered urban gardens that feel alive, resilient, and useful. 🌿

At AGG we get down and dirty.

Today’s work:

* clearing curb debris for drainage,
* rebuilding soil,
* reusing compost,
* setting seedlings,
* tuning pathways,
* and building a tiny “house” structure with my assistant supervisor in rain boots.

No showroom landscaping here. Just practical, living systems built over time.

The goal is simple:
healthier soil, better water flow, more habitat, more food, and spaces people actually use.

Happy Mother’s Day from Aetos Grounds & Gardens 🌿

To the mothers building homes, tending gardens, carrying children, holding families together, and still finding time to notice the flowers blooming along the sidewalk — we see you.

Nature runs on quiet systems: roots, water, sunlight, patience.
So do families.

Today we honor the women who cultivate life in every form — often without recognition, always without pause.

May your coffee stay warm, your garden grow deep, and your people remember to say thank you before asking where the scissors are.

AGG Seed Lab — South Alley System

One of the things we focus on at Aetos Grounds & Gardens is building systems, not just installing plants.

These beds in the South Alley are being built slowly and intentionally:
- seed starts under improvised grow lights,
- recycled organic material,
- layered soil structure,
- drainage-conscious layout,
- and even our old Christmas tree being repurposed into future compost and hugelkultur material.

Nothing here is wasted.

In South Louisiana, heat, water, humidity, and soil biology matter more than expensive products. The goal is to create conditions where the system becomes more resilient over time instead of more dependent.

A healthy garden should eventually start helping itself.

That means:
- retaining moisture naturally,
- feeding soil biology,
- reducing runoff,
- lowering maintenance,
- and creating habitat for pollinators and beneficial life.

You do not need perfection to begin.
You need observation, patience, and structure.

Use what you have.
Build layer by layer.
Cultivate over time.

Aetos Grounds & Gardens — NOLA

Most curb strips get ignored.
We treat them like opportunity.

Layered planting. Pollinators. Edibles.
Water capture tied into the system.
Built to thrive in heat, rain, and neglect.

This one’s starting to produce—first olives on a sidewalk tree, sunflowers pushing height, and the whole strip holding its own without constant input.

Not a lawn service.
Not a design firm.
Small-scale landscape systems that actually work.

I’ve got a few one-time garden reset spots open next week—for spaces that need structure, not just cleanup.

If you’ve got a front strip, courtyard, or overlooked edge that could be something more, reach out.
