Pool "Salt Chlorine Generator" Info:
This is an electric device that makes liquid chlorine. The device is a control unit with a keypad display and cell unit. Some devices are an all in one unit and others have the control unit and cell unit separated. The cell gets plumbed into the pool plumbing after the pump, filter, and heater. The control unit requires power. The recommended number of 40lb bags of pool salt will need to be dumped into the pool.
Notes:
Sanitation: this will not create a "salt sanitized pool", this is a "chlorine sanitized pool", this device is your at home chlorine factory
Generating: the "chlorine generating" green light will not turn on unless the salt level in the water is within the recommended range
Inspect: the "inspect cell" light will routinely remind you to inspect the cell for calcification, if calcified clean with a wooden tongue depressor, if stubborn clean with an acid "cell cleaner", then reset the inspect cell routine reminder (frequent acid cell cleaning will shorten the life of the cell)
Chlorine Testing: typically the device will display the salt level but NOT the chlorine level, use chlorine test strips daily, adjust the amount of chlorine produced by changing the output percentage on the device (Example: setting to a 30% output means that the device will produce liquid chlorine 30% of the time that the pool pump is running)
Cost Comparison: compare the cost of the device, salt, electricity, and upkeep to the cost of buying chlorine
Cell Life: cells typically last 3-5 years if the ph and alkalinity are kept within range, (low ph water- is acidic and corrodes cells and heaters, high ph water- is scaling, neutral 7.6 ph- is ideal)
Breakdowns: if the device is not working, manual add liquid, granular, or tablet chlorine to the pool until you get the device working
-Low Salt: if the device reads low salt, confirm the low salt by using "salt test strips" or bringing a pool water sample to us, the machine can be wrong causing you to add salt to the water that cannot be removed without draining off pool water and adding new water

Winter Hot Tub Care:
Check your hot tub daily during the cold winter months to make sure that the power is on and that the water is warm. If the power breaker trips or you have a mechanical problem, the spa water inside of the plumbing can freeze, expand, and break the plumbing.
-NO POWER: Flip the power breaker off and back on. (Note- Most hot tubs have an inside breaker and an outside breaker.) If resetting the breaker does not help, please contact us for service.
-NO HEAT: If the pump IS running and circulating the water but the not tub is not hot, check for a FLO error or 3 blinking lights on the topside. This is an indication that the system has turned off the heater due to lack of water flow. A dirty filter can cause a low flow error code. Try removing your filter and then reset the power breaker. As long as there is no large debris, you can temporarily run the hot tub without the filter. If the spa heats without the filter installed, then chemically clean or replace the filter.
-NO HEAT: If the pump IS NOT running and circulating the water but the hot tub is not hot, then most likely there is a circuit board or pump problem. Please contact us for service.
