I tried to buy some of those $250 full cords of seasoned wood thinking I could save a heck of a lot of work, time and sweat. I was really disappointed in the wood quality and volume.
I frequently see people advertising a “pickup load” of firewood for less than $144, and it genuinely makes me question how those prices are being justified. Producing firewood involves a significant amount of hard, physical labor, and it is not the kind of work that can be done sustainably at bargain rates.
Years ago, I also sold firewood at very low prices, but at that time I had little understanding of proper pricing and was not handling all aspects of the work myself. Over time, I have come to better understand the true cost involved — from cutting and splitting to moving, stacking, and delivering. There is a major difference between making a little extra money on the side and operating as a serious business.
For those who believe my prices are too high, I would invite you to spend a full day doing this work firsthand. I believe most people would quickly realize that this level of labor is not something they would be willing to do for minimum wage.
Thank you for taking the time to read, and I appreciate the opportunity to share my perspective..😊🪵🌳🤔 🙏 🏠 🪵..!!
