Japanese heritage meets the American metropolis

Aviva Stanoff’s roots run deep. A hometown nestled between the beach and old growth redwoods, childhood summers spent tending flowers around her grandfather’s Buddhist temple in Japan, and a decade in New York City form the natural and cultural tapestry of her aesthetic. Her reverence of nature, respect for Japanese tradition,

and affinity for urban life shape the refined complexity inherent in her work. While completing her MFA in applied textile design at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Stanoff spent a summer in NYC working nights designing runway textiles while interning during the day at Calvin Klein Home. By graduation, Stanoff’s designs for Calvin Klein were on the store shelves, and her runway work earned her a mention in Vogue. Upon graduation, she continued to focus on fashion, designing textiles for top fashion houses in New York, London, and Paris. Clients included: Christian Dior, Givenchy Couture, and Liberty’s of London, among others. Her products were noted as a “Best Bet” by the New York Times in her inaugural season. Using her signature printing technique, she created a collection of artful, hand-made works with soul. Aviva’s work is known for her combination of sophistication and subtlety. Each one-of-a-kind concept is hand - crafted with unwavering attention to design and detail as traditional embellishments meet cutting-edge textile treatments exclusive to her design studio. Her deliberate luxury is seen in her unique made-to-order products, sold internationally in high – end retail boutiques, department stores, and interior designer showrooms. Recently, Aviva's textile designs were invited to be part of the permanent collection at the Brooklyn Museums' Decorative Arts Textile Collection. Her honors include participation in both the Oscar and the Golden Globe Gift boxes. In 2006 her decorative pillows won for Best New Product in Home Accessories at the NY Home Textile Show and Accessory Merchandising noted her as one of the Top 100 products of the year. In 2012, she received the Most Innovative Product Award for the American Society of Interior Designers in New York. Her textiles are featured in the Trump Soho, Nobu restaurants, The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, and a number of other contract & hospitality interiors. Most days you can find Aviva in her design studio. She’s been manufacturing for the last 6 years. She welcomes studio visits, licensing opportunities, and collaborations with retailers, Contract and Hospitality projects, architects and Interior Designers.
