Last week, we immersed ourselves into the world of fashion design at Christian Siriano’s atelier for Fashion Week Bootcamp. From sketching gowns and learning to drape to crafting fabric flowers and receiving feedback from Christian himself, the experience offered a firsthand look at the creativity and craftsmanship behind the industry that inspires so many of the spaces we design.

Equally valuable were the connections made with fellow creatives, designers, and makers as we put our artistry to the test. Immersing ourselves in our clients’ worlds helps us better understand their vision, process, and priorities - insight that ultimately informs the spaces we design.

The day served as an inspiring reminder that creativity thrives through curiosity, connection, and immersion.

Last week, the MAOarch team was proud to sponsor PAVE’s Sip Into Summer event, an evening dedicated to supporting the next generation of design professionals.
 
Bringing together industry professionals, students, and partners, the evening was filled with networking, games, great food, a lively atmosphere, and meaningful connections - all in support of students pursuing careers in design.

Designed by MAOarch in collaboration with Creative Director Wes Gordon, Carolina Herrera’s La Jolla Boutique , brings the brand’s New York bold refinement to the luminous California coast.

This space glows with curved mica-infused plaster walls, ribbon-like bronze rails, a sculptural Murano glass chandelier, and blush and white hex tile floors — a soft reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic black and white. Sculptural pieces and subtle touches of Herrera red bring quiet strength and grace to the space - an elegant reflection of the brand’s world, framed by red awnings and ocean air.

Completed in March 2026, this boutique represents the culmination of our collaboration with Carolina Herrera, a chapter we are deeply proud of. We are so grateful to have partnered with such an incredible team and client to create a store that is a work of art.
