Toyota 2000GT — Japan’s Original Supercar 🇯🇵

Few cars changed the world’s perception of Japanese performance cars like the Toyota 2000GT. Launched in 1967, this elegant grand tourer combined a 2.0L DOHC straight-six with advanced engineering and a 220 km/h top speed. Toyota produced just 337 examples before production ended in 1970.

Its low-slung proportions, long hood, pop-up headlights and delicate details made it one of Japan’s most iconic sports cars—and its appearance in You Only Live Twice helped put Japanese automotive design on the global stage.

Would you choose the Toyota 2000GT over a European sports car of the same era? 👇

🐍 Shelby Cobra Mark I — American Power, British Soul

Born in 1962, Carroll Shelby’s Cobra combined a lightweight British AC chassis with Ford V8 power—creating one of the most legendary sports cars of the era.

The early Cobras began with Ford’s 260 V8, with the 289 V8 following soon after. Shelby says the first 75 small-block Cobras were built with the 260 before the 289 became the dominant small-block engine.
