In the corridor of an automotive magazine office at Sheffield Tower in New York City, linear tube lights suspended from the ceiling evoke the image of road markings and streaks from headlights and taillights are also reflected on the polished concrete floor below. GKV designed the lights as a subtle way finding path towards the open conference table area at the end of the hallway and open office space.

GKV provided renovation and residential design services for entire three-bedroom apartment at 149 East 73rd Street located in the Lenox Hill neighborhood in New York City. The pre-war building has only 24 units and each apartment enjoys a private elevator landing. A golden branch-like pendant light suspends over a large dining room table. A creamy glow adds a pop of color on the light fixture. The overall design is a study in grandeur and simplicity. ⠀

The interior space renovation at 149 East 73rd Street in Manhattan included a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a bathroom redesign. The white light-filled kitchen features a modern and minimal style. The layout includes a private eat-in nook towards the corner of the kitchen space. The stark contrast of black and white in the bathroom is evocative and alluring. Torchiere sconces, vessel since and rain shower head hint at an updated pre-war design style. ⠀

Monarch Heights, a residential building located in Manhattan’s Morningside Heights neighborhood, was designed to provide high-end/luxury accommodation for students attending nearby Columbia University and Barnard College. The building rises 14 stories and comprises 80 units, which include studio to 3-bedroom suites. Exposed concrete panels installed across the facade of GKV’s Monarch Heights feature a scored vertical striation evocative of the local stone and masonry details found in architecture of the Upper West Side.
