Some people don’t want calm—they want company in their chaos.

And if you’re not paying attention, you’ll find yourself shrinking, explaining, overextending
just to keep something steady that was never stable.

Peace isn’t something you negotiate.
It’s something you choose—over and over again.

Let them sit with what’s theirs.
You don’t owe anyone access to your calm just because they can’t create their own.

Let’s compare notes
 âœđŸŸđŸŒż
New style, same locs—but baby, the scalp said “don’t switch it up and forget about me.”

I’m learning this look needs a different kind of moisture
something that actually reaches the scalp without weighing my locs down or messing up the style. It’s a balance, dahling.

So talk to me—what are y’all using to keep your scalp moisturized with a style in? Light oils? Mists? Serums? What’s keeping it fresh without buildup? Put me on 👀

The lewk, meticulously styled by yours truly, was born from my eternal affection for warm colors. While pink was my mother’s ultimate favorite, red stood proudly as a close second, embodying the vibrant essence of her cherished flower, the rose đŸŒč. One evening, as I journeyed through our family photo albums, nostalgia wrapped around me like a comforting blanket. Amidst this trip down memory lane, I uncovered a delightful pattern—my childhood photos were vivid tapestries of red, woven into my life by my mother’s loving hands. It was a subtle, yet profound revelation. This lovely little realization brought a chuckle to my lips, as I marveled at how a simple color silently narrated a significant part of my past.

Let’s take a Field Trip with

There’s a moment while visiting The where everything slows down—and if you’re moving too fast, you’ll miss it. The Garden Court isn’t just about what you see but how it makes you feel.

Take a seat.
Look around.
Notice what’s growing in a place that doesn’t get any
sun—and how it still thrives. It’s a quiet flex in adaptability.

Don’t just pass through.

Let it reset you for a second. đŸŒ±đŸŒż

Tree canopy in NYC isn’t evenly distributed—and the impact of that shows up in who has access to shade, cleaner air, and relief during extreme heat. This isn’t just about greenery, it’s about how we care for each other in a warming city.

That’s why I care so deeply about the work of the New York Restoration Project (). Their annual spring tree giveaway partners with community-based organizations across all five boroughs to get free trees directly into the hands of New Yorkers—folks who want to green their blocks, their yards, their communities. To date, New York Restoration Project has given away 80,000 free trees to New Yorkers across the city, focusing on neighborhoods with the least tree canopy.

Because a tree isn’t just a tree, dahling.

It’s shade. It’s breath. It’s protection. It’s possibility.

If you’ve ever wanted to bring a little more life to your space—and your neighborhood—this is your moment. Tap in, find a giveaway near you, and take one home 🌿

New York City has 7 million trees

Boundaries are bridges too.
They don’t exist to shut people out—they exist to show people how to arrive with care.

They teach the pace, the tone, the level of respect it takes to meet you where you are now—not where you used to be.
And the truth is, not everyone will cross them.

Some will hesitate.
Some will turn back.
Some will reveal, without ever saying it, that they were only comfortable with a version of you that required less.

But the ones who are meant for you—the ones who value your presence, your peace, your growth—will learn the way.
They’ll meet you with intention.
They’ll honor the structure you’ve built.

So don’t shrink the bridge to make it easier for others to cross.

You don’t find purpose—you practice it.

That can look like showing up for your community in real, tangible ways. Brooklyn Org Volunteer Day is a borough-wide initiative led by in partnership with and 30+ nonprofits across Brooklyn. Each year, Brooklyn Org galvanizes the community for a day of giving back, hands-on service, and spotlighting the nonprofits strengthening the borough.

Prospect Park is a perfect example. The Alliance provides community members with opportunities to volunteer—learning composting, mulching, and environmental stewardship—then put those skills into action by restoring forest trails and caring for shared green spaces year-round. Direct, local impact in Brooklyn’s Backyard.

And the bigger picture matters: Brooklyn Org has directed over $150 million to nonprofits over the past 15+ years, supporting 100+ organizations annually and investing in communities across the borough.

If you’re looking to get involved with Brooklyn Org or Prospect Park, volunteer opportunities are available year-round for all ages.

And that’s a hard truth to sit with,
especially when you’ve been the one
leading with understanding, patience, and care.

But grace was never meant to cost you your peace.

At some point, you start to notice the pattern

what’s changing, what’s not,
and what it’s asking of you to keep staying.

And maybe the shift isn’t about punishing them—
it’s about honoring yourself.

Sometimes consequences just look like distance.
Less explaining.
More listening to what’s already been shown.

Not everything needs a dramatic ending

just a quiet decision to choose yourself a little more than you did before

the lewk, styled by yours truly, and the mewd was inspired by my childhood memories of prancing around my local playground. As a baby kween, I would often leave with grass stains all over my clothes, and wore those stains proudly

for young Chrissy it was indication that I had a hell of a good time that day at the playground
