Leaving for the Philippines this week to meet with community members, engineers, and kids on the build for Mangoso School with . The school was nearly destroyed by Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013. in Aug 2015.

UT Austin has featured SCALEStudio's collaboration with the School of Architecture and Africa's Promise Village on a primary school in the rural village of Esilalei, Tanzania.

Last spring, a handful of architecture students were faced with a daunting and unfamiliar challenge: design a school for a village 8,000 miles away in the African Simanjiro region, where water is scarce, the average wage is $1.25 a day and half the children die by age 5.
