Beautiful little White Pine was an undesirable in it’s current location so instead of cutting it down we were able to find another spot on the property where the tree could grow and be loved. We have some girdling roots, and codominate leaders to deal with but happy to relocate!

As we get into this years planting season it’s important to make sure you plant everything correctly. Selecting heathy stock from the nursery is always important.
Here we have a Tilia that has had stunted growth over the years, so we did some exploring and we can see it was planted too deep, and had several girdling roots.
Some surgical cuts to clear the roots, removed some soil to expose the root flair and a good layer of wood chips will help the tree recover.

I’ve been using drills for a few years to drive the ship auger bits into the trees with out issues. Battery powered equipment has come a long way.
