Last week, I had the incredible honor of being featured in Latinas in Architecture, Volume III at the Built by Her: Stories of Remarkable Latinas in Architecture event.
This evening was so much more than a book launch - it was a powerful celebration of resilience, representation, and the voices of Latinas shaping the built environment. Each of us shared a unique journey, and I am truly humbled to stand alongside such an inspiring group of women.
As Latinas represent only about 1% of licensed architects, I am especially proud to be part of a movement that is working to grow that number while inspiring and uplifting the next generation of females to pursue careers in this field.
Thank you to the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee, Rosalind Tsang, Graciela Carrillo for moderating, Alicia Ponce for making this book possible, and Carol Wedge, AIA for your support.
I’m also so thankful to share this experience with fellow panelists Elizabeth Pacheco, Angie Arent, Natasha Espada, and all of the co-authors.
Feeling proud, grateful, and inspired to keep pushing forward.
