If there’s a positive on the horizon, it’s warmer weather coming soon 🤞so now’s a good time for a seasonal switch. We talk a lot about prioritizing the placement of things, putting less frequently used items up high. Out-of-reach shelving is great for seasonal items; we moved up all the sweaters, warm pants, ski stuff and other items that don’t get as much use in the summer. Sometimes, we like using clear, plastic tubs with lids, especially in the attic or any storage where things get dusty. For this closet, we found these cloth zippered bags on Amazon - the perfect size for the shelf (no wasted space!), breathable fabric and clear windows on top and bottom. Rainy days = daydreaming for warm-weather travel. For this drawer full of travel-sized toiletries, we used a stackable divided bin to create different categories: hair, body, face, teeth, sleep, etc. Before organization, all these products were thrown together in a large basket, making it A) Impossible to find things quickly; B) Impossible to know how much of each item you have; C) Impossible to pack on the fly. So now, thanks to a bi-level + compartmentalized situation, packing just got a whole lot easier. Now we just have to decided where to go. What are your fave travel-toiletries-packing tips??

What’s the most challenging thing about organizing your kitchen? For some it’s getting those countertops cleared for use, and for others it’s knowing what the best place is for storing gadgets and food. Either way, a kitchen is the most heavily used room in the house which makes it the most important room to be organized, right? Share some of your tips to organizing your kitchen with us! Baby’s room can become a dumping ground for miscellaneous baby items, gifts, and misfit toys. It’s not easy to keep things under control when you’re chasing after a little one(s). So live by this one guideline: give yourself permission to let things be messy once in a while. An organized space has a blueprint for where everything needs to go. So once that blueprint is established, getting the messies under control is easy.

Living in beauty doesn’t always mean you’re surrounded by “beautiful” things all the time - it means you’re surrounded by the things that impact your life in a positive and nurturing way. I love working with clients who have different styles, tastes, opinions, and loves. They’re the clients who see the potential and beauty in their space - because they know that being organized has no negative outcomes. 📸

Some people are baffled about how I can make a living organizing someone else’s house or space. “It doesn’t ever last after you’ve organized it, does it?” Or “Don’t people get funny about you going through their things?” The honest answer is, “Sometimes.” No matter how Pinterest perfect a job might look after I’ve had my paws all over it, the reality is that a home is ultimately for living - and should/will look lived in. But simply organizing someone’s space goes beyond just the aesthetics and practicality - its a switch that is flipped with the client where they are able to maintain order in their home better than before. And they are almost always excited for me to go through their space and things. So I guess my job title should be more on the lines of a fairy Godmother than an organizer 🤷🏻‍♀️📸

I had the most frightening dream last night that no one could see anything in color anymore - just black and white ⚫️⚪️ Maybe the reason why that’s so scary is because I’ve had that song Cinderella sings in my head for days - “A Dream That You Wish Will Come True” 🙈

The reason why organization and design go hand in hand so well is because they’re interchangeable. It’s easy to “get your ducks in a row” for certain aspects of life (scheduling, kids, partner, work life balance, etc) and having a home that is functional as well as aesthetically pleasing creates environmental balance. We’ve all experienced that atmosphere of balance either in our own home or scrolling through a feed, so can we agree that an organized home is a beautiful home and a beautiful home is an organized home? 🧘🏻‍♀️. 📸

I’m a huge fan of “light and bright” spaces. But if you live in New York City, you know that most living spaces are anything but “light and bright” - so as an organizer and designer how do I edit a space to always emphasize every ray of natural light possible? Use colors that will reflect light and compliment each other. In other words, clear bins, white framing, and neutral undertones. Because natural light never goes out of style! 📸

Ok, guys: there’s really nothing too glamorous about organizing office papers, records, and other important documents. Let’s be real. But there is something so reassuring about knowing where your 3rd child’s medical file is so he can play football this fall. Or your car’s title. Maybe the dog’s vaccination verifications. Whatever it is it’s always important to 👏🏼 color 👏🏼 code! A color for each family member 🔵⚫️⚪️🔴 will help keep things organized!
