These clients traded Texas for New York City and wanted a home that felt exciting, welcoming, cozy, and fully their own. Contemporary interiors, a love of bold color, spaces designed for entertaining (complete with a gorgeous custom bar), and even subtle references to a passion for horses all found their way into this Upper West Side condo design.

My clients sometimes freeze up when it comes to color.

They know they want a home with personality, but they worry about making the wrong choice. They don't want something that feels trendy today and dated tomorrow.

But I see color differently.

I use color as a tool, just as important as layout, lighting, architecture, or furniture. When thoughtfully applied, color can make a room feel calmer, more energetic, more intimate, or more welcoming. It can draw attention to beautiful architectural details and create continuity from room to room. Color makes a home feel distinct and personal to you.

In this Bronxville home, a blush pink lacquered ceiling reflects more light into the office. A golden ceiling paired with navy blue millwork gives the butler's bar a moody feel. →

"I immediately felt I was in good hands." - our NYC client

These words are music to my ears, because that's exactly how the process should feel.

Clients come to me because they don't want to second-guess every choice. They want someone who can see the bigger picture and anticipate what's ahead. Someone who can narrow the choices and confidently recommend the best path forward.

That's the advantage of experience. Not just creating a lovely home, but helping clients avoid costly mistakes while maximizing the potential of their space.

When clients tell me they felt they were in good hands, I know we've done our job.

The recipe for a well-designed home:

The layout makes sense. The architecture and furnishings work together. There's flow; a connectedness between rooms. Every decision builds on the one before it, so nothing feels out of place.

That's often what clients are responding to when they walk into a home and say, "It feels right."

And that's exactly the feeling we're after.

"I don't know quite what I want."

I hear this often at the start of a project. Clients may arrive with saved images or inspiration from places they've visited, but they're still unsure of what feels right for their own space.

That's why I prefer to start with a clean slate.

Rather than recreating someone else's design, I focus on understanding my client's household. How they spend their mornings. How they like to host. What frustrates them about their current home. What makes them feel comfortable, energized, relaxed, or inspired.

From those conversations, a vision emerges. Now, we have something concrete to work with.

Attic rooms often come with a signature challenge: a lack of natural light.

For this Bronxville home office, we embraced it. A high-gloss pink lacquer ceiling reflects every bit of available daylight, while a moody botanical wallpaper adds richness and depth without making the space feel enclosed.

The part of a renovation no one warns you about? It isn't the dust or the disruption.

It's realizing, halfway through construction, that you wish you had included just 𝘰𝘯𝘦 more thing.

Maybe it's custom cabinetry in the study, or heated floors in the primary bath. Once clients begin to see the progress gaining momentum, it's only natural to start imagining what's possible.

That's why we spend so much time planning 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 construction starts.

I often say, "Measure three times, cut once." The more we resolve upfront (layouts, millwork, product selections, budgets, timelines, etc.), the smoother the project becomes once work is underway.

Square footage is one of the most valuable commodities in New York City, and there's rarely enough of it.

Luckily, a home doesn't have to be large to feel spacious.

I focus on making every square foot count. Intentional layouts, custom storage, scaled furniture, and architectural details that make a home feel more open than its footprint suggests.

A renovation has no undo button.

Once walls are moved, cabinetry is fabricated, stone is cut, plumbing is installed, and electrical is run, changing course becomes far more complicated. And more expensive.

I often hear clients say, "I get confused with too many choices."

They're looking for guidance. Assurance that the layout makes sense, the storage is taken into account, the lighting is planned, the materials are appropriate, and their investment is being made wisely.

My role is to think through all these decisions 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 construction begins. I evaluate how rooms will connect, the family's lifestyle, how they entertain, and what improvements will have the greatest impact on their home.

When that level of planning happens upfront, decisions become simpler and the process feels less overwhelming. Our clients can move forward with confidence knowing they're in capable hands. That's the value of getting it right the first time.
