**Hi! We’re currently demoing our kitchen and I’d love some help with backsplash and wall color choices. 🤍**

We’re doing **two-tone shaker cabinets**:

* **Dove** on the upper cabinets
* **Wood** on the lower cabinets
* A **quartz countertop** that’s pictured with the cabinet samples

Now I’m stuck on the backsplash and wall color.

What would you choose for the backsplash with this combination? Something simple and light? A warm neutral? Subtle texture?

And for the walls — **does it need to be white?** White seems like the safest choice to me, but our living room is currently **SW Alabaster**, which I’m open to changing if another color would flow better with the kitchen.

I’d love suggestions that keep everything feeling **warm, cohesive, and timeless** without competing with the wood cabinets or countertop.

P.S. The cabinets will be the **shaker style shown on the wood door sample**.

Thank you for any input!

Help! I share this bedroom with my toddler, and I’m trying to figure out how to make it feel like a space that belongs to both of us instead of just having two sleeping areas in one room.

I’d love for her side to feel sweet, cozy, and special for her, while still keeping my side calm and comfortable for me. Since we’re renting, I really don’t want to make any permanent changes or do anything that could damage the walls.

I’m thinking removable decor, renter-friendly wall ideas, better storage, maybe some soft lighting, artwork, shelves, curtains, or small touches that could help visually separate her area from mine without making the room feel smaller or crowded. I’d also love ideas that work with the furniture and neutral colors we already have so I don’t have to completely redo everything.

The goal is to create one room that feels warm and pulled together, but still gives both of us our own little space. 💕 Any renter-friendly ideas for making this shared bedroom feel more like hers and mine at the same time?

**We need serious help choosing our flooring! 😩**

My family originally wanted **dark floors**, while I’ve always preferred something **lighter**. We found this option, but now I’m worried it may be pulling a little too gray.

I’ve included photos of the **same flooring in different lighting**, because it seems to change quite a bit depending on the room and time of day.

Ideally, I’d love something just a little **blonder/warmer**, but we cannot seem to make a final decision.

After **25 years of waiting**, I’m finally getting my new kitchen, so naturally I’m overthinking every choice. 😂

**P.S.** The flooring will run throughout the **kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway**, so it’s a pretty big commitment.

Please help — would you go with this, or keep looking for something a little warmer and less gray?

I kind of love my “country kitchen.” But could someone show me the look if I removed the cornice, added pendant lights over the sink, and updated the faucet? Not changing appliances until these die.

**Hi everyone! We’re in the process of choosing our countertops and would love some feedback! 🤍**

We’ve narrowed it down to these options:

1. **Calacatta Valentin**
2. **Calacatta Miraggio Cove**
3. **Calacatta Fioressa**
4. **Solitaj**
5. **Calacatta Miraggio Duo**
6. **Calacatta Idillio**
7. **Solitaj Brushed**

I’ve also included our **cabinet, flooring, and backsplash choices** for reference.

Which countertop do you think works best with everything we’ve already selected?

If anyone has one of these installed in their kitchen, I’d especially love to see photos and hear how it looks in real life.

Thank you!!!

I’m actually really proud of how this little bathroom window project turned out! The window is a little too close to my neighbor for comfort, so I wanted more privacy without covering it up with curtains and losing all that beautiful natural light.

I ended up using a simple stick-on privacy window film with a bamboo pattern that I found on Amazon for around $8. It gives me the privacy I wanted while still allowing plenty of sunlight into the bathroom, which was especially important because my farmhouse-style bathroom really benefits from having as much natural light as possible. Taking the curtains down immediately made the space feel brighter and more open.

For the decorating, I slowly collected the blue and aqua glassware from thrift stores over several months and added some faux eucalyptus for a little greenery. Altogether, I probably spent around $30 on the entire setup. I live near the coast, so I especially love how the different shades of blue glass remind me of sea glass and bring a little bit of that coastal feeling indoors.

For me, this ended up being a win-win: privacy when I need it, plenty of natural light, and a pretty little display that feels personal to my home. It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a fortune to turn an awkward window into something you actually enjoy looking at.

Hopefully this inspires someone else who has a similar privacy problem! Use whatever colors, thrifted pieces, plants, or little treasures fit your own style and get creative with it. Sometimes the simplest projects end up becoming your favorite parts of a room. 💙🌿

Worlds most dated entry. Couch in foreground will be gone. Light fitting changed to a downlight. Stair railing has to remain but can be painted. Carpet has to stay. How could the area be otherwise changed to create a calming and welcoming entry?

I know I need new pictures but this post is about pillows. Can someone show me a picture of how to do pillows for this couch on both sides? I asked chat to help me but chat is making it matchy matchy. I just ordered the stripe cover but I don’t think it looks good
